I live up the valley frost not that bad last night.
Ground ok near me even in shaded areas.
Something amiss with the ground staff, weren’t any covers put on?
It’s beyond a joke now.
Won’t be surprised if we start to get points deducted for shitty pitch.
Ought to get a rebate back from our landlords for inadequate accommodation.
Re: Exiles Grandstand: Southend home MATCH OFF FROZEN PITCH
17As there was due to be a new pitch laid in the summer by the WRU the funds should still be there. Swansea had one relaid in less than 72 hours. Plenty of time now before the Brighton fixture to get a new one down...
Re: Exiles Grandstand: Southend home MATCH OFF FROZEN PITCH
18All Flynn’s recent patronising remarks about the ground staff has clearly failed.
Re: Exiles Grandstand: Southend home MATCH OFF FROZEN PITCH
19Let’s not forget Dragons are due to play Ospreys at 17:15 on Saturday 9th January.
Not much time to repair the pitch for Brighton on Sunday.

Re: Exiles Grandstand: Southend home MATCH OFF FROZEN PITCH
20Would hope we have some sort of clause covering situations like this and some kind of rent rebate. However I imagine the WRU are fully aware we have few other options to play at. Not much room to negotiate a favourable contract.
Brighton game is going to be a real challenge. I wonder whether the board have considered hosting the game elsewhere as a one off. If it's neccessary to secure our TV money.

Re: Exiles Grandstand: Southend home MATCH OFF FROZEN PITCH
21What happened to the days when we used to clear the snow off to reveal the touch lines and penalty area?
Not to mention playing with the orange ball.

Re: Exiles Grandstand: Southend home MATCH OFF FROZEN PITCH
22Right so let's make that...
1 PL match off (Fulham-Burnley tomorrow)
3 Championship games off (Brentford-Bristol City and Luton-QPR for Covid, Rotherham-Cardiff for snow)
5 L1 games off (Accrington-Pompey and Swindon-Wigan for frozen pitch, Peterborough-Doncaster, Rochdale-Franchise and Shrewsbury-Crewe for Covid)
5 L2 games off (though sadly not FGR nor Carlisle)
4 National League games off
5 National League North games off
7 National League South games off
2 Scottish Championship games off
2 Scottish League 1 games off
3 Scottish League 2 games off
1 Scottish Cup game off
2 (both) Cymru Premier games off
... and probably more to come within the next 45 minutes. But at the minute we sit (according to the BBC, that is) at 40 total postponements for the weekend - it's not good.

What about the EFL 48 hour rule?
Re: Exiles Grandstand: Southend home MATCH OFF FROZEN PITCH
25With the worst of the weather to arrive yet, with Covid killing off game left right and centre, I really can't see this season ending anytime before July if at all
Re: Exiles Grandstand: Southend home MATCH OFF FROZEN PITCH
26As an aside, Paul Howard was due to ref us today. He did our home match against Harrogate on 31 October, booked 3 of their players and sent one off for simulated diving (Fakinham), or Fakin 'em if you like
Re: Exiles Grandstand: Southend home MATCH OFF FROZEN PITCH
27Very disappointing, but obviously conditions vary greatly from area to area. Frost was heavy with me last night and shaded ares of ground are frozen; with skies now clearing it's quite likely to start re-freezing before the game was due to end.
Unfortunately we are now facing a backlog of fixtures to squeeze in.

28Saw Amond out jogging way before it was announced, they obviously knew earlier.

Re: Exiles Grandstand: Southend home MATCH OFF FROZEN PITCH
30Oh well, yet again the weather interferes for a second successive game of County's.
With Oldham having an impressive away record having won six of their latest league matches on their travels and Carlisle having a tricky game at Walsall today, County will remain top after todays games provided both Forest Green and Carlisle fail to win their respective matches.
Bolton v Crawley
Forest Green v Oldham
Grimsby v Cambridge
Leyton Orient v Salford
Mansfield v Port Vale
Stevenage v Scunthorpe
Walsall v Carlisle
1. Newport County 20 31-21 +10 38pts
2. Forest Green 21 27-18 +9 37pts
3. Carlisle 20 +10 36pts
4. Cheltenham 21 +9 35pts
