Although it has been said that developing that part of the site is the way to make the Dragons financially viable.
Tbf unless they rebuild Las Vegas on it I'm not sure how... if they built houses it would create a lot of money but Dragons wouldn't see it - what kind of plans? Community facility match-funded by the council is the ideal, but where would it be?

Having read the plans (and worked with an AFC Wimbledon Supporters Trust member) I was interested to see their plan for a rudimentary stadium seems to have been exactly that - it's more finding a feasible central location than funding some boxy minimum viable product that's the issue. And probably the squash club, they're not moving for anyone.

I'm not sure there would be room for any seating along the sides and the cabbage patch pitch would also have to advance towards the old clubhouse. There'd have to be an economy of scale in putting all the changing rooms in the same structure?

Heck, both rugby teams could even play at the same time! Or NRFC on the cabbage patch on an artificial surface as a curtain-raiser for Newport Dragons in the main stadium.

Then the back of the new development at the North terrace end would be able to accommodate retail like club shop, ticketing and food outlets to make it more viable.
It would have to be in line with the WRU ground regulations for the semi-pro league that Newport RFC play in.

A double North stand structure, narrow terraces on the wider sides of the pitch and possibly a hotel or flats on the part where the old clubhouse and shop currently is may work for both the Dragons and WRU as well as Newport RFC and finally Newport County AFC?

Would also be a great facility for the rest of Newport to use too as they do at Cardiff Arms Park, it was nearly in use 24/7 before the pandemic.
