There has to be reason why he does not fit in, It`s not us that have to give him a chance, that`s up to the management, he is no way up there with the players we have lost back to there clubs, only time will tell, in the mean time like any new signing they will be given there chance to prove me wrong, just hope MF gives him a chance and has not just brought him in to make up the numbers.
Unlikely to play this w/e due to Covid protocol with regards to isolating.
Re: Luke Gambin
17Some very annoyed Colchester fans on Twitter.
I see he's made 19 apps this season for them, I wonder if he's on one of those automatic contract extensions should he hit 20 perhaps?

Re: Luke Gambin
18According to “ Twitter “ traffic, the fans seem to have liked him and don’t understand this transfer. Welcome to Mr Gambin, let’s hope he can help with the creativity problem, who do we move aside to select him?
Re: Luke Gambin
20Depending on the other signings, as he is described as an attacking midfielder/left winger presumably the options are he will adopt the 'Twine' role or as an left winger in a 4-3-3, or 4-4-2 formation (Willmott on the other wing?) with either Labadie or Bennett dropping to the bench when/if Sheehan returns.lowandhard wrote:According to “ Twitter “ traffic, the fans seem to have liked him and don’t understand this transfer. 22Thought you were against loansStan A. Einstein wrote:Being a winger is a specialist position. As such he might be very good but simply kept out of the Colchester team who might have a more in favour player in his position. Best or worst example of that comes from the other code. In my boyhood I remember Newport had a brilliant scrum half called Allan Evans. Who would have been a star if from any other country bar Wales. And kept out of the National team for an obvious reason.
He's our player now and I wish him the best of luck.
Edit.
Just read the post above.

25I didn't realize he was on loan. However he's with us for the rest of the season.County-at-the-races wrote:Thought you were against loansStan A. But clearly I will need to be more strident in future, after all there is no 'think' about my view on loans.
Re: Luke Gambin
26We have Willmott,Ellison and Collins, three wide players who can’t get starts because we play with three CM players.Does this mean we are not going to play with three CB’s to use Gambin, does it mean Flynny doesn’t rate the mentioned three as wingers.
Re: Luke Gambin
27It’s certainly difficult to know what exactly he brings to the party until we see him but I’m sure I read somewhere that he’s versatile and can play left midfield too. Let’s hope he aids creativity because there’s precious little threat at the moment. We have at least half a team full of forwards who neither score nor get a chance to.Percy plunkett wrote:We have Willmott,Ellison and Collins, three wide players who can’t get starts because we play with three CM players.Does this mean we are not going to play with three CB’s to use Gambin, does it mean Flynny doesn’t rate the mentioned three as wingers.
Re: Luke Gambin
28A player who has played a lot of football in recent seasons, a step up from our usual loans on paper. Hope he makes the grade on grass.

30Let’s hope this signing reignites our form and season.
I reckon this means that one of or both of Willmott and Collins will leave in the next few days.
I wonder if, similar to what County do with some players, Colchester haven’t been playing Gambin in his preferred / strongest position hence why he can’t get in their team and has been made available?
