Since County were promoted to the FL in 2013, both County and Exeter have competed against each other in L2 since.

Newport County 1-4 Exeter City:
Ollie Watkins gave the Grecians the lead in first half stoppage time. He scored a second shortly after the break to double Exeter's lead. David Wheeler added a third on fifty three minutes. Sean Rigg reduced the deficit with around ten minutes remaining. Watkins completed a hatrick deep into stoppage time. The mid season encounter saw County five points adrift of the drop at the foot while Exeter were mid table.

Exeter City 0-1 Newport County:
Tom Owen-Evans scored the games only goal during the early stages of the second half. This was Toms first goal for County as a professional. With both clubs having five to play, Exeter were among the play-offs while County were two points from safety at the foot.

2017 / 2018:
Exeter City 1-0 Newport County:
Lee Holmes got the games only goal on fifty seven minutes. Both clubs were now in the top seven after five games each.

Newport County 2-1 Exeter City:
This match was played on New Years Day. This was County's first victory against the Grecians in five attempts at Rodney Parade. Padraig Amond headed County in front early on in the sixth minute. Jayden Stockley leveled for Exeter on fifty two minutes. Robbie Willmott scored what proved to be the winner midway through the second half.

2018 / 2019:
Exeter City 1-1 Newport County:
In what was only the third league games of the season for both clubs, Jayden Stockley
gave Exeter the lead on twenty one minutes. Loanee Mark Harris got the equalizer on eighty one minutes, his first goal for County.

Newport County 1-0 Exeter City:
This was County's first win in seven. Jamille Matt got the games only goal on seventy one minutes. County now had seventeen to play while Exeter had sixteen. County eventually made the play-offs while Exeter failed on the final weekend.

2019 / 2020:
Newport County 1-1 Exeter City:
Lee Martin put the Grecians ahead on fifteen minutes, a lead they held until the sixty fourth minute when Tristan Abrahams scored a penalty after Josh Shehan had been fouled in the box.

Newport County 0-2 Exeter City:
EFL Trophy.
Both goals scored by Matthew William Jay, one in each half.

Exeter City 1-0 Newport County:
Lee Martin scored the games only goal on fourteen minutes. Eight yellow cards were issued, four to each side. Midway through the season, Exeter were now in second position while County were fourteenth.
