Would imagine that would compact the sand/mud composition thereby compromising the drainage. One would hope the groundstaff are knowledgeable enough to do their best with an almost impossible job.
Beginning to think that the suggestion of playing elsewhere for the rest of this season, if at all possible, needs exploring. Maybe it wouldn't be sanctioned by the EFL? But if the pitch is deemed not fit for purpose would that leave us liable to sanctions by the EFL?

Would EFL allow us to move,have we asked.They may surprise us and say yes.AFC Wimbledon moved in mid season so did Spurs.Have we explored the possibility of playing at the Cardiff City Stadium.They have a lovely surface which would suit our early season passing game.Would the EFL allow it,would Cardiff want us,have we asked.

Definitely worth asking IMO, but would obviously come at a financial cost.
