For what it's worth I thought it was called a side screen until about three years ago. Along with chimney which I thought was chimley. There are others, curb and kerb, revue and review, etc.

Predictive text helps, it allows for a plausible excuse as well.

I know what you mean Brendan. The word and it’s meaning I have a continual problem with is affect/effect.

I thought its always been known as a SIGHT screen as it aids the batsmen in viewing the ball coming out of the bowlers hand against a dark background , White SIGHT screen ( red ball) or a black SIGHT screen if a white ball is being used

Morning Mike,

A little tip to avoid this particular pitfall. Use the word impact instead. Whenever I had to draft a document rather than risk getting it wrong I'd use impact. Another tip is nine times in ten it's affect.
