We paid £5 for a pint of Pironi at Poppit sands over the weekend. That's the most expensive pint I've bought in this country.

Ten years ago I had a pint at Euston Taps costing £6.60.

I’m happy however to report there IS a god (on this occasion it wasn’t my round).

£6.20 for a yucky pint of lager prior to the Fulham v Palace game yesterday. Plastic glasses too.

It was. Great views from the seats opposite the pub, but very expensive. We moved up the the Fox and Hounds after one round but that was nearly as expensive as well.

Cracking view though, guess you pay for that to a degree. Likewise the Ferry Inn up the road. White Hart in the middle of St Dogs is cheaper. Grosvenor in Cardi always has a guest Tiny Rebel beer or two. The local Cardi brewery Mantle does some good beer too.

Must have been more drunk than I thought. It was the Ferry Inn, not the Fox and Hounds! We ended up in Cardigan. Good food in the Grosvenor and our beer was nearly half the cost of the beer in Poppit. Chap I work with brews and sells cider in the quadrant a few yards away. Can't remember what it is called, (the quadrant not the beer).

Wye Valley Butty Bach sells well around Gloucestershire. £3.50 a pint and worth every penny
