BBC news coverage - 'The force (police) stated that it was policy to breath test drivers who had been involved in an accident. Both results were negative'. Prince Philip was driving.

Theresa May sent Philip a message wishing him well after his car crash, the prince then responded in turn.

So were millions of others who fought the evils of fascism. Many of whom gave their lives, or their physical or mental health.

The overwhelming majority didn't use it as an excuse to lord it over the rest of us.

I could well be wrong Brendan, but I suspect that Jim was being ever so slightly sarcastic there.

Agreed, Stan.

Just out of curiosity, is it possible for him to be prosecuted for a driving offence, or would The Crown v The Crown pose a problem?

Yes. Indeed Princess Anne has a conviction for failing to control her dog. Say what you like about the Ruskies but when it comes to royalty, they know what to do.

They certainly do. Nothing wrong with shooting and bayoneting kids after keeping them captive for over a year. The sins of the fathers. It was obviously their fault and they thoroughly deserved it. Yes, the Ruskies know how to deal with royalty.

If we are talking seriously then of course you are right. Although the many thousands of peasants whose children starved to death under the old Tzarist regime, or the new Tzarist regime of Stalin merit as much sympathy.
