Internet safety day
Is today, Tuesday 5 February.
This board is about football and therefore attracts adults and children. In terms of safety for children who use this board should we now insist that as we have to register it should be with a name and verifiable identity?
My view is yes. That does not mean to say that people's identities should be published but that they should be known to board administration.
As ever I am interested in the views of others.

Name, rank and number, that's all they are getting from me.
On a serious note, I have no problem with identity. You should have the balls (sorry girls) to be able to say what you write directly to the person involved. Yep, as part of the registration process, name and address required.

Re: Internet safety day
How do you propose the admins verify identity, while keeping this board free to join? It is one of the inherent dangers of the internet and to some people the appeal of it (not just maliciously either, look at the online gamers looking for an escape). It is very easy to assume an identity on the internet, you can provide a real name and address very easily it just might not be yours.
Probably the most effective solution is education of users of the internet starting at an early age and making them aware of dangers and having appropriate levels of control and parental oversight for children.
