I find it laughable that the whole country is forced into mourning, with the papers having photos of football players huddled up looking glum, etc. When similar happened in North Korea after the death of Kim-Jong-il, we were all laughing at how brainwashed their people were.

It feels like "mourn for him, plebs. You are inferior to him, and don't you dare say out loud anything different".

I absolutely detest the concept of a royal family, it is everything that is wrong with the modern world. More and more global population growth each year, yet no more wealth is being created at the bottom end of the food chain to look after these people or make the working class life any better. Meanwhile this lot have everything and more they could ever dream of, and we're supposed to celebrate that? They should be stripped of their entitlements, given a basic living allowance and some sensible level of financial means, then left to fend for themselves. Their land and assets, accumulated centuries ago by stealing and murdering, should be sold off to private investors or nationalised by the state and used as tourist attractions for the benefit of the entire country. No joke.

Absolutely agree with everything you have just said. They should be 'phased out'.
