Hopefully to lighten the mood, albeit with gallows humour.
In the section five things we have learned from Mansfield v County was at number four, 'County don't look like a play off team, at the moment.' Not quite up there with Fog in the channel Europe isolated, but a good effort. I was wondering if anyone else recalled other ridiculous Newspaper headlines, which although accurate factually, rather missed giving the true picture. Or indeed strikingly accurate headlines as per, 'After that crap, thank f@ck for Barnet and Chesterfield'.
Please don't take this thread too seriously.
Re: Five things we learned.
41: We do not have the wage budget/attraction for quality players to get us promoted.
2: The infrastructure of the club is still in the semi-professional realm (ticket office/general club numbers a prime example - never anyone around).
3: We need to address the future stadium issue.
4: Players should be given one year contracts. If they are not happy, then go elsewhere.
5: Should have sold players when we were relatively safe, rather than let them run down a contract and go for free.

5Seriously
1 Should play passing football not hoof and prey
2 Frank should play every game under his contract, but if he ever drifts out to the wing should be sent packing.
3 Jazzi should be considered rather than ignored.
4 2 up front every home game without exception.
5 No more panicking when we are in the lead and all falling back behind the ball.
Jokingly
1 The coach driver should of had 4 points next down to Joe for allowing them on his coach.
2 Does anybody really think Frank has a clause allowing him to play every game.
3 No truth in the rumour Flynny and Pipey had another handbags incident on the way home.
4 Marlon will start Saturday (that's for Corky, Bush & Exile).
5 Hoping Sarturdays game will be called off again as need a week to recover from last nights efforts

6One that comes to mind after a natural disaster where the death toll was obviously disappointing to the hack in question : the headline was “ EARTHQUAKE IN CHILE - not many dead “Stan A. Einstein wrote:Hopefully to lighten the mood, albeit with gallows humour.

Re: Five things we learned.
8What about these two little gems from the Liverpool Daily Post when the explorer Dr ( later Sir ) Vivian Fuchs set off on his first Antarctic expedition
“ DR FUCHS OFF TO SOUTH ICE “
And when a year later, he sailed again , the joke was revived
“ FUCHS OFF AGAIN “. - the same headline also appeared in the Daily Express
Both the above from Fritz Spiegls book “ keep taking the tabloids “

' Diana was still alive , hours before she died'
Can't remember where
