Stanley 2 up looks like promotion tonight great season for them
Exeter beating Chesterfield 1-0
Re: Tonight's games
2Billy Kee what a season for Accrington and Andy Cook for Tranmere can't stop scoring definitely both 20 + strikers. BOTH worth their weight in goals.
Re: Tonight's games
4So to finish in the play offs what needs to happen is one of Lincoln and Coventry must pick up no more than 3 points from 4 games. Mansfield must pick up no more than 4 points from 3 games and Swindon no more than 7 points from 3 games.
Oh, and we have to win all 5

6Stranger things have happened!! One team usually has a late run into the play off positions, no reason why it can't be us.

Yep ! Our last five home games have cost us
Re: Tonight's games
8Crewe,Stevenage and FGR.8 points squandered,we'd be just 3 points off the play offs.

9Barnet, Morecambe, Port Vale - another 7 squandered there.Percy plunkett wrote:Crewe,Stevenage and FGR.8 points squandered,we'd be just 3 points off the play offs.
Re: Tonight's games
10Swindon , Coventry , Exeter, 13 points picked up.
People always look at the games we dropped points not where we picked them up unexpectedly. Maybe we prepare for the tougher games on paper with more intensity, maybe the bigger teams treated us with little respect, either way it has been a great season and something to consider for next season.

11Don’t disagree with that. Just a shame we dropped so many points at home against poor sides.Alan G Bryant wrote:Swindon , Coventry , Exeter, 13 points picked up.

Re: Tonight's games
12It is a shame but every other club can point at games the could have or should have won as well.
Re: Tonight's games
13At least 4 of those games we conceded fairly late goals, whilst sitting back trying to manage the game out to a conclusion. That's something we need to stop doing next season.
Re: Tonight's games
14I agree. I haven't checked but the number of points gained from losing positions seems far lower than the number of points dropped from winning positions.ref23 wrote:At least 4 of those games we conceded fairly late goals, whilst sitting back trying to manage the game out to a conclusion. Edit.
I should add that clearly a late equalizer only garners one point whilst a late equalizer for the opposition loses two points. Nonetheless we seem to get mugged more often than we mug other teams.
Re: Tonight's games
15Worthy of note, is that in the 53 league games so far under Mike Flynn, we have a goal difference of (-4)..... we've collected 49.68% of the points available to us. So we're not dropping points left, right & centre, but we're not killing teams off either.Stan A. Einstein wrote:I agree.
