Re: The 18/19 squad...so far
31The Hayes saga was not good business for the club - a low return for how much we paid him - not including the admin fiasco.

There are variables of course but in any analysis the test of a goalkeeper is how many goals he concedes.newgroundrodney wrote:We definitely need a GK to challenge Joe Day, and this should be our first signing.
In 58 games under Flynn, Day has started virtually every game, and we've let in 75 goals.
I know footy is a team game, but that's not a good record. He has no competition for his place and that's not OK.
Imagine how fabulous he'll be when he's got someone breathing down his neck for his starting place!Stan A. Newport County have a defensive record which is average. There are teams who concede more in League Two and teams which concede less.
I have never understood those who claim that Joe Day is the best keeper in League Two. He isn't. However neither is he the worst. He is a competent lower division goalkeeper.
I agree to the extent that it would be good if there was someone to challenge for his place. I can't really see Joe Day being fabulous.newgroundrodney wrote:

Certain fans will have to find a new scapegoat if so.Exile 1976 wrote:Heard Willmott is looking for a return to his neck of the woods.
Put up with it? Nouble puts up with it. Willmot cries to the media and calls out fans! Putting up with it! Hahajollysuperstar wrote:Its only a few who enjoy the Robbie baiting.
Assume he will continue to put up with it for another season at least
Thought it was reported on here that a few Morons booed Frank off at 1 away game to which he was not too happy.Bush wrote:Put up with it? Nouble puts up with it. Willmot cries to the media and calls out fans! Putting up with it! Hahajollysuperstar wrote:Its only a few who enjoy the Robbie baiting.

Nouble’s abuse has been much worse and is bang out of order sometimes. You think willmott is bad because people think he is average You obviously haven’t seen the tweets sent to frank after defeats. Never once seen him react. If he reacted at a game do you blame him?jollysuperstar wrote:Thought it was reported on here that a few Morons booed Frank off at 1 away game to which he was not too happy.Bush wrote:Put up with it? Thought Robbie complained on Twitter whatever that is.
Is that media?
Think it was at 1 contributor only.
The fella has had good games and poor games no idea why he gets picked on by a few of you on a regular basis but that's football fans for you everywhere
