Not a bad draw.....winnable tie that may get a crowd of 3,000 ( Oxford may bring 500 as its not that far away and fairly easy to get to Newport , even for a midweek tie ).
Price the game at £10 and we could get 3,000
Re: Oxford home league cup round 2
3Happy with that, it means I'm able to attend, I can't normally go midweek because of work.
We can beat them on the day and they should bring a good crowd.

4We have only won in the 2nd round once and that was back in 1962. This draw gives us a great chance for round 3.
Re: Oxford home league cup round 2
5We beat one Universiry City in Round 1
Can we beat another University City in Round 2 ?

Re: Oxford home league cup round 2
6Decent draw, not started the season well. Get a good crowd in at Rodney, could see us through to the 3rd round.
Re: Oxford home league cup round 2
7I can't imagine Newport's going to be particularly gripped by this tie on a midweek evening tbh. Will be surprised if we match the previous home attendance even if it's cheaper than the usual home price as all the ST holders will have to buy tickets and not everyone will.

8Get in there!
Superb draw for Yours Truly, Oxford born but now living and working here.

10I think the 'In-Person' is supposed to mean buying it on the day rather than in advance, at least that's how it's been in the past.County Exile wrote:Online purchases are £2 less than in-person purchases. Re: Oxford home league cup round 2
11It says online and no mention of in advance or on the day, looks like anybody using the ticket office is being penalised
Re: Oxford home league cup round 2
12Yes I'm gutted they brought this unfair thing back in I'm missing first 4 home games because of it
Re: Oxford home league cup round 2
13Yes, that seems a strange thing to do. You’d think they would prefer punters buying their ticket in the club shop where they might buy something else. In addition surely there’s more costs/work involved in an online transaction?daftasfxxx wrote:It says online and no mention of in advance or on the day, looks like anybody using the ticket office is being penalised
Re: Oxford home league cup round 2
14But there’s no advantage apparently for buying before the date, it’s not discriminatory except as regards online transactionsMicheal wrote:Yes I'm gutted they brought this unfair thing back in I'm missing first 4 home games because of it
Re: Oxford home league cup round 2
15Ah I thought it was cheaper buying on line I'm never sure what time I finish I'd b gutted buying a ticket and not being ab le to get to the match so if my finishing time is anywhere near the kick off time I just write it off
