Lenny has retired with immediate effect due to depression. Hope he is getting all of the support he needs. All the best Lenny. He's a County legend in most people's book.

3Retired with immediate effect due to his current club outing his condition. There were rumours when he was with us that he was suffering then, but the club did right and kept the reason for his absence away from the public domain. Such a shame his current club decided to make it public.

5Never forget Lenny at the playoff final. Legend is a word that can be used too often but in this case I agree.
Enjoy your retirement Lenny. Wish you good health for the future.

6Come and have a goalkeeping coaching job at Newport Lennie.... Come home son, we'll look after you, give you purpose, structure, encouragement and whatever else you need to get through. Come home son!
Re: Lenny Pidgeley retires
7What's the process for asking the club to give a player a testimonial? A Newport County XI vs a Chelsea XI made up of some of the players who were at Stamford Bridge with Pidge in his early days? Wouldn't need to be at RP if costs were prohibitive. A chance to thank Len for what he did for us, and to put a few quid in his retirement pot.

10That statement from Farnborough is disgraceful. No wonder there's still such a stigma around mental health.
Wish him all the best in whatever he does next, club legend. Would be great to have the board invite him down for a game at least, as others have said.

15I don't understand why you say the statement is disgraceful? They were just informing the fans of what was happening and never mentioned any mental health issues.DT1892 wrote:That statement from Farnborough is disgraceful. No wonder there's still such a stigma around mental health.
