Re: 1979
9That season we reverted back to the old gold black and amber. All season we were challenging but there was a dip in form in mid winter. From memory after a 1-0 win on new years day v Hereford we didn't win again until the start of the 10 match run at Tranmere in late February. Living in Liverpool at the time it was an easy trip. The best part of the night was the performance of the ref. The penalty he gave us was of Coggingesque proportions whilst our other goal was so far offside that from where he was Aldridge could have caught the bus to the Mersey ferry.SJG99 wrote:Cheers - more of a tangerine then though?
Happy days.

13We must have taken close to some of those figures to Walsall. I vaguely remember loads and loads of buses heading up the M50 that day!SJG99 wrote:https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1979%E2%8 ... _sAlleasonCollars wrote:We were average but never outside the top 10 I think.
