Re: Todays ref.
2The quality of the referee matched the quality of the football, both were below par.
Re: Todays ref.
3I disagree. Thought the refs quality was below the quality of the Football. Solid performance, and important win. Promising debut from Azeez.Amberexile wrote:The quality of the referee matched the quality of the football, both were below par.
Re: Todays ref.
5Crap ref indeed. Only compliment is he didn't stifle a game from happening which some do as well as being poor.
Re: Todays ref.
6presumably for leaning on the shoulder of the Carlisle player. Have to admit couldn't identify the alleged 'culprit.' have to say it looked to be like a melodramatic falling to the ground to me.Percy plunkett wrote:Did anyone see what the pen was for? I was up the other end.
Re: Todays ref.
8You can always tell when the ref has got a penalty call wrong, because the attacking team look just as shocked as the defenders. Not one Carlisle player appealled for it.
I think he got Sheehan's dive right though.

9O'Brien and one of their players wrestling with each other. Their player went to ground first.Percy plunkett wrote:Did anyone see what the pen was for? I was up the other end.
Looked 50/50 to me at the time.

The sort of thing that happens regularly in most games, which most referees ignore.Fortunately Joe ensured that justice was done.

11Eh ????Amberexile wrote:The quality of the referee matched the quality of the football, both were below par.
I thought the game (especially the first half) was one of the best this season at RP .
End to end .
Chances at both ends
Both sides playing some nice passing stuff
Played at a good pace
It's not La Liga FFS ??!
Re: Todays ref.
12I agree it was a decent match but I thought the quality of the football within the match was typical of the comments opposition managers make about most of our games and below average for League 2.Corpaboy wrote:Eh ????Amberexile wrote:The quality of the referee matched the quality of the football, both were below par.

Re: Todays ref.
13Ref was diabolical. Thought it was a good, entertaining game - we played some good stuff at times. What do you expect - it's proper football not prima dona millionaire football.
Re: Todays ref.
14Very strange, we were in his face disputing decisions straight from the outset. I wondered if he has a reputation for succumbing to pressure and we wanted to get ours in first. Baffled by their penalty.

The ref was truly awful...not sure how you could say the football was below par though mate. I thought there was some great football on show from both sides.
