Re: Grandstand - Cambridge Away
17If only we'd pinched a win in one of those two home games, I'd be feeling cautiously optimistic. But we're two games away (minimum) from getting in the top 7 and there's only 5 left.
Here's to hoping though!

19Up to 12th. Five points off the play offs with a game in hand. Hmmmmm.
Re: Grandstand - Cambridge Away
20Well played Lads, let's just win the rest of our games and see where we end up

Re: Grandstand - Cambridge Away
22The problem is we can't score at home to the top teams, and we've got Bury, Lincoln and Oldham all at home.
Re: Grandstand - Cambridge Away
24Bury are a car crash with players on strike - will be there for the taking on Friday. Lincoln are already promoted and probably champions when they play us. Oldham will be on the beach when we play them. Morecambe too. Macclesfield away is going to be tough.
Depends on Exeter if we reach the play offs - benefitted from a dodgy penalty today. Their run in isn’t too bad.
As said before the 2 points v Tranmere and Swindon were good points against form teams.

25We're very good at home usually. I'll back us to take points of all the top sides at home. And we're picking up away as well now which is great timing!
You never know! The good thing as far as I'm concerned is that for next season we only appear to be around 15 points off automatic promotion. That's one or two players, not a whole squad. I just hope we can keep hold of the likes of Amond, Matt, Demetriou, Butler and - crucially - Day for one more year. I'd like to see us spend some of the cup money on good contracts for these lads - they deserve it for starters, but they will give us a consistent platform for next season if we do miss out this one.

Re: Grandstand - Cambridge Away
26I think we will need 12 of the 15 points available to the make play offs. I just hope we can keep in contention for as long as possible. Massive game now on Friday and hopefully a bumper crowd.
Re: Grandstand - Cambridge Away
27Could it possibly come down to these two needing a 'contrived draw' in the final round of matches in order to both reach the play offs?County Exile wrote:FGR home to Exeter final match of season.
Re: Grandstand - Cambridge Away
28Great result.
Beat Bury Friday and I think we've got a great chance as I fancy Exeter to drop points in some of their remaining games, namely Stevenage and Forest Green away.
It's going to be tight with a few more twists to come but it's certianly doable if we don't bottle it.

Re: Grandstand - Cambridge Away
29With four matches to go before that game is played, that's a bit of a far-fetched conspiracy theory.

30Agreed. But it is just possible. Hopefully not.excessbee wrote:With four matches to go before that game is played, that's a bit of a far-fetched conspiracy theory.
