New signings?

Flynny has said in the Argus that he thinks we’re missing a player up front and wants to bring another forward in. However, I think that we need a central midfielder who can control our midfield-like Labadie. We seem to struggle without Joss, and other players (Dolan, Bennett etc.) just aren’t the type of player that Joss is. They are still quality players to have at this level, but they play differently compared to Labadie. The closest player we have to Joss is Sheehan. He can control the midfield well but he too picks up yellow cards often.

So, I was wondering what you all think we need more. Another forward, or another midfielder who can help us out and do a good job if/probably when, Labadie is either injured or suspended.

Up the county!

Yesterday showed us that we need a fox in the box striker who feeds of scraps but will score from them. In the second half Matt and Amond were out for the count with being bullied on and off the ball their lack of pace is both a major weakness when your two strikers have no pace you are limited on the chances you create and score from. Scott Boden is scoring for fun for lowly Chesterfield and he is the type of finisher we need.
Two midfielders desperately because only Labadie and Sheehan are good enough if we are looking for promotion. Bennett much better at centre back, Dolan would not get in midfield in any of the other League 2 team with his performances over the last two seasons. Nurse and Maloney on what I have seen very ordinary and Wilmott blows hot and very cold.
SHOULD HAVE signed Broom of Cheltenham a Newport lad who was a free agent scored 6 from midfield and one of the big reasons why Cheltenham are flying high.
Mike needs to bring in reinforcements if we want any chance to go up automatically this season.

100% agree.

Why sign Poleon and never give him a kick.

Whitely so much better than Dolan or Mahoney and you have a young potential star in Dom Jeffries never getting a sniff of even getting on bench.

Goodness know what happened with KMB and Flynny but got to be better than Mahoney and we continue to pay his wages.

Agree with both. Would be good to see Poleon play at some point. Scored 13 goals in all competitions when playing for the Wombles in 16/17. If he can score that amount for a league one side then surely he can do it at this level, might just need confidence and definitely game time.

Can we loan KMB out to a non league side now we’re not in the transfer window?

Yes we need central midfield cover. We have done for the last two years. This is where it all happens . Flynn surely knows this. It's more important than another striker. If we don't get one in play Nurse or Jeffries. Take a risk . It's better than persevering with Dolan who prances around for much of the game. We could put Amond in the middle. It worked with Tynan. We should use Whiteley more and definitely start with Mcnamara. Flynn is 'shooting himself in the foot' at present.

We can loan him out below the national league but presumably he doesn't want to go.

Sorry to state the bleeding obvious but if Labadie is unfit we have no bite and if Sheehan is out we have no guile. We’ve had no proper consistent midfield for two years. It’s about time that fact was addressed in a sensible manner and in truth it’s criminal that it hasn’t been.

If Labs is unfit Saturday our superb midfield could be Dolan, Mahoney plus AN Other.
How poor is that.
