Right Back - Ashley Baker from Sheffield Wednesday. 18 month contract, undisclosed fee.
Welcome aboard Ashley!
Re: New Signing
3This seems a decent signing, more experienced than Macnamara and with a dozen Championship games. We seem to pay undisclosed fees quite regularly even though he is surplus to them, agents and Wednesday talking him up no doubt.Happier with this signing than the others,on paper.
Re: New Signing
5So far that’s Waters for Marsh-Brown , Gorman for Whitely , Baker for McNamara and Wilmott back in training. A much healthier squad than 13 days ago.

Re: New Signing
812 appearances in the Championship last season. Happy with this signing ... likes a yellow card mind, 7 in 12 games last year

10Good news, now I feel we’re beginning to strengthen. Would love a Byrner-type in mf though. Never satisfied

Re: New Signing
13Isnt he the sort of player that the club should be offering 2 year deals to rather than players who have never played in the Football League ?
Somebody who has a sell on value if the management improve them , right sort of age , obviously talented enough because he played in the championship ???

Re: New Signing
14Just a minor observation but,he takes Macnamara's number 12 shirt and Waters has Maloney's number 22.Is there a reason why other spare numbers can't be used, with Woodiwiss number 47,there isn't a shortage of numbers available. In theory,he could be number 40 or 99 so why take numbers already used.
