Now I'm confused did this happen at the Grimsby game because the Gus just state it was same day but state he's a County fan
Re: Banning order
2It was an public court. I doubt very much the Argus had a reporter there. So your guess is as good as mine. And for that matter as good as that of the South Wales Argus.UPTHEPORT wrote:https://www.southwalesargus.co.uk/news/ ... ted-crime/

Re: Banning order
3So Fred West who was a Bristol rovers fan I didn't see headlines saying
Rovers serial killer sent down
Rovers serial killer sent down
Re: Banning order
4I seem to recall that a Grimsby "fan" had been outed by his own supporters during the game, which was commendable.
Re: Banning order
5Definitely happened at the Grimsby game, as the guy was sitting in the row behind me.

Re: Banning order
74 years banning order for racist abuse is too lenient. It needs to be a lifetime ban IMO. No place for it in football.
Re: Banning order
9So it was at our game then the Gus report just said the same day as Grimsby game
Re: Banning order
10Having read the very full report on the County website there is but one small point I would argue.
My own view is that the lifetime ban from the stadium is excessive. He has a four year banning order in any event. I would ban him from the stadium for the four years and then allow his readmittance on the proviso he made a full and unconditional apology and gave a written undertaking not to behave in such an outrageous manner again.
Any retribution without the possibility of redemption is merely revenge. It is probably impossible to enforce in any event. For me racism, like all forms of bigotry stems from fear and hate. I applaud hating racism, but if we allow ourselves to hate racists we become mean spirited.

Re: Banning order
11I'd agree with that. If the law of the land decrees a four year ban from football grounds, that should be sufficient. Stewards and turnstile operaters will be fed up of keeping a weather eye on passing faces after a year or two, four years is a long time. They will struggle for a lifetime watch.
Re: Banning order
12How do you inforce a lifetime ban anyway a four year banning order haven't you got to report to local police station during every matchexcessbee wrote:I'd agree with that.
