During the second half of what was a tough game to watch on Saturday, tempers were clearly getting frayed stood on the terrace. That’s understandable, people were frustrated at such a poor performance and although I’m not one to boo myself, I accept that it’s part of what goes on.
However, about half way through the second half Inniss gave the ball away and somebody stood behind me screamed, “**** off back to Palace.” Loud enough for the player to hear himself. What’s the point in that? I’m not a massive fan of Inniss but behaving like that has to be the most counterproductive thing you can do at a football game. As far as I’m concerned, only one person can **** off in this situation, and it’s not Ryan Inniss.
Re: Abusing Players
2Quite agree with you.
I heard 3 players being shouted at on Saturday in front of kids also.
Then they wonder why the player gives it back.

Re: Abusing Players
3The favourite for most abuse is Robbie.
Makes one mistake and they are on his back .

Re: Abusing Players
4I genuinely heard somebody scream “get him off the pitch” at Willmott, I think it was at the Macclesfield game. The game was about 7 minutes old. Embarrassing.exile1960 wrote:The favourite for most abuse is Robbie.

Re: Abusing Players
5There's posters on here mind giving players abuse calling them crocks
It's pathetic how about getting behind the boys

Re: Abusing Players
6Firstly I cannot see any problem with the term crock.
Its always been a word to cover anybody not fit for a game.
certainly not an insult in my book.
Mind you if that's shouted at a player bang out of order
Regarding abuse unfortunately it seems to come regularly from the "choir" area.
Saturday stewards were trying to catch somebody using racial abuse near the dug outs.
One clown against Cheltenham was screaming abuse at Tozer.
5 minutes later he scored for them.
Ex County player.
At FGR some nutter last year screaming abuse at Semenyo.
You cannot make it up.

7I’ve never heard abuse towards our own players from the area where the choir stand. Both of these instances came from nowhere near there.Frank Nouble 3 wrote:Firstly I cannot see any problem with the term crock.

Re: Abusing Players
8I was sitting just below where the players families are and some clown shouted abuse at one of the players he then had the cheek to look for support when the player gave him what for back.
I know we all have opinions of players but shouting at them is embarrassing and will only make the player loose concentration.

Spot on! It's not just our fans mind I think every club has that element

Re: Abusing Players
11Agree mate you do hear it at other clubs.
I know we are going through tough times but not let's stoop this low.
It was good to see 2 fellow supporters giving this other fan there opinion, well done you lads

I sit in Hazel block A
Row B smack behind the choir.
Appreciate Ben Tozer does not play for us but to tell him to F off from smack below me.
Who stands there?
Secondly my favourite steward was blocking my view Saturday looking over the front at the choir area.
After the game I was told it was because somebody was shouting racist comments.
Deny or just ignore but its fact.
Probably one idiot but why not dob him in?
Re: Abusing Players
14I couldn’t really give a toss about people having a pop at Tozer. I’ve given opposition players plenty of stick, as long as it doesn’t get racist or homophobic then it’s mostly ok. I’m more concerned about our fans destroying the morale of our own players.Frank Nouble 3 wrote:To clarify.C'mon A 'Porrrrt wrote:I’ve never heard abuse towards our own players from the area where the choir stand. As for racist comments I didn’t hear them and neither did you. Also I haven’t heard this mentioned by anyone else anywhere. It may have happened, but I’d stop short of calling it fact if I were you.
Re: Abusing Players
15So it was you having a pop at Ben then.
Clearly the Stewards were blocking my view for the fun of it.
Again I believe the main supervisor was there also.
Not a problem just hope whoever it was gets spotted if it happens again.
Maybe the fella from Grimsby snook in again.
