I remember listening to a manager once who said that whether you’re on the way up or on the way down , you’ll always find your level. There’s also another saying that the longer you’re out of a struggling team, the better player you become, until you get back in it.

Since the 2013/14 season the average total of points of the team finishing 7th in EFL2 is 72. Highest has been 75, lowest 70. For us to reach 72 points this season we will have to pick up a further 33 points from 17 games, so pretty much 2 points per game or DWDWDWDWDWDWDWDWD or 11 wins / 6 defeats etc etc.

It is strange considering he worked with the academy and he himself got a chance at 17 to play,admittedly at Southern League level.It seems the reason why Byron left was Flynny's lack of interest in the academy.We have three who aren't world beaters but have something to offer.We will see what free agents are available,he might have to try them and might get a pleasant surprise.

So you’re criticising Flynn for sending the 17 year old kids out on loan to compete at the same level he was blooded at?

Is this the same Flynn that brought Arron Collins back to the club from MacDonalds, brought Poole back on loan and recommended Lee Evans to Edinburgh?

Just out of interest, what players of Byrons did Flynn show little interest in and where are they now?

can,t disagree with their managerial records while in charge,my only real point regarding our academy players and is probably the same with most clubs at this level is you truly have to be head and shoulders above and consistently stand out to make the breakthrough.yeh keiran had mom on his debut but you have to put that level of performance in every day in training and reserve games against your peers and players whose position you want in the match day squad and if you don't constantly stand out in that envoirament chances are you wont on regular basis when the pressure is really on for points promotion\survival in front of hostile crowds home and away.i,m not suggesting for 1 minute none of our academy lads couldn't make the grade or don't deserve a chance but reality is there are probably thousands of young kids in the same position.but I do agree that there is an opportunity to blood a few properly with a run of games later in the season.
