Looking right through the whole list of contributions so far.
Big pat on the back to the 4 directors who have put in up to £1K each.

As reported 2 ex players have chipped in.

Perhaps the other fella directors including the chairman have contrbuted but anonymously?

No idea why you would do that though being figureheads for the club

Cannot see anywhere on the page where you nominate your charity choice either.

Pause for a moment.

Whether people have contributed £1,000 or £10 it is very commendable.

My problem is that none of this money is new money. In the sense that supporters are donating money to the club and would do so in any event. You would raise funds by the same amount if you asked them to sponsor a square foot of the playing surface at Rodney Parade.

We still had three months to find a sponsor and money from an outside sponsor would be new money. £20,000 of new money is £20,000. £40,000 raised via this method I doubt really amounts to more than a few hundred pounds if that.

I fail to see how anyone giving this serious thought wouldn't come to the same conclusion. One of the jobs of directors is to think policies through. This fans sponsorship of the shirt is not an evil or nefarious action. It's just stupid that's all.

Afternoon mate
Enjoying this weather for sure.
Hopefully we will all be meeting up again sooner than maybe we originally thought after today's news.
Thanks about the Charity as we wanted to make sure whatever we send in will be marked up for JDRF.
Any contributors not sure who to put forward please if not worried stick JDRF down (little plug).

Cheers

Hopefully that's over and above the £500 they have pledged towards the sponsorship

From County Chat on FB, I’m just going to bullet point-

*We’ve got a substantial amount of money in the bank

*However, we’re expecting to lose around £750k in the next 5 months.

*Paddy Power verbally agreed to extend sponsorship deal but pulled out in May.

*What the club are doing now regarding the fans pledging money for sponsorship, as well as other shirt deals, will bring in more money than last year.

If (and given the person that posted it I have absolutely no reason to not believe him) all this is true, why the **** could it not have been brought to our attention by the Board in a statement !!??
I have absolutely no doubt that this approach would have gone down a lot better with fans and we wouldn’t be limping along with only 300 pledges.

The problem especially on this board is that contributors just don't get it.
Maybe it will sink in one day but I doubt it.

£750k is a big number and clearly reflects how clubs are going to struggle going forward. I guess with no fans attending for the first half of the season that alone equates to about £600k in lost match day revenue. Tough times ahead.

Is this £750,000 broken down? I don't see how this figure is reached.
