198How you nominate has been on the club's website for almost a week, i.e. since the thing was launched. Crowdfunder is an external site so you wouldn't expect to see that sort of detail there. It's not relevant to their end of things.

Whether people have contributed £1,000 or £10 it is very commendable.
My problem is that none of this money is new money. In the sense that supporters are donating money to the club and would do so in any event. You would raise funds by the same amount if you asked them to sponsor a square foot of the playing surface at Rodney Parade.
We still had three months to find a sponsor and money from an outside sponsor would be new money. £20,000 of new money is £20,000. £40,000 raised via this method I doubt really amounts to more than a few hundred pounds if that.
I fail to see how anyone giving this serious thought wouldn't come to the same conclusion. One of the jobs of directors is to think policies through. This fans sponsorship of the shirt is not an evil or nefarious action. It's just stupid that's all.

Hopefully we will all be meeting up again sooner than maybe we originally thought after today's news.
Thanks about the Charity as we wanted to make sure whatever we send in will be marked up for JDRF.
Any contributors not sure who to put forward please if not worried stick JDRF down (little plug).

204I would give the board more credit than that.If back of shirt sponsorship was as cheap as a monkey then me and many other fans would be clamouring to sponsor the third kit at that price.

208£750k is a big number and clearly reflects how clubs are going to struggle going forward. I guess with no fans attending for the first half of the season that alone equates to about £600k in lost match day revenue.
