Padraig Amond put County in front well into first half injury time .Scunthorpe were level within five minutes of the second half after County's Mark O'Brien scored at the wrong end.County's second came from Josh Sheehan with around eleven minutes of the second half played.

Scunthorpe Utd 1-2 Newport County:
Abo Eisa put Scunthorpe in front on thirty eight minutes and they held that lead up to half time. Jamille Matt levelled for County on seventy two minutes, three minutes before Scunthorpe had Lee Novak sent off for a foul on Amond. From the freekick, Amond scored. County had not won any of their previous ten league games since beating Scunthorpe at Rodney Parade.

Yes, the league season is up and running today, another superb Newport County season to look forward to. It could be very different to many in the past.
