Re: The annual where will we finish thread poll
34We often go off like a train in the early part of the season. It's once the pitch is broken that we tire and things go a bit tits up. Hopefully we can build up a decent number of points by then.

35Nope! I'm one of the six that plumped for us finishing first! So at the moment I'm feeling pretty smugUPTHEPORT wrote:Anyone changing their minds quarter of season gone

36Not me.UPTHEPORT wrote:Anyone changing their minds quarter of season gone
I thought this season would be 'touch and go' and changed my mind after about four or five games. In any human activity having an initial view is important, having the character to change your mind if the facts change is vital. Anyone who thought this season would be a struggle who had not changed their mind long before now would look even more foolish than someone trying to make a rather silly point.

37What would make me very happy is if you feel really smug on May 1st. Unless of course County's season peters out but we all learn you're making out with Angelina Jolie.NearlyDead wrote:Nope! 38Yep, I'm in full retreat from 16th place. I doubt we'll win it, too many one-goal margins and the WRU is cheerfully ruining the pitch, but I'll say third.UPTHEPORT wrote:Anyone changing their minds quarter of season gone
Re: The annual where will we finish thread poll
39I'm not prepared to even suggest third. I too went for 16th. A better time to reset would be when we've played everyone else once. Although I'm no longer applying the fifty points for safety thoughts, top seven would not be disappointing, although some would call it a disaster.
Re: The annual where will we finish thread poll
40Went for a mid-table finish again like last season. Never thought we’d struggle as we had a good spine already. Hopeful we can now last the pace and get promoted.UPTHEPORT wrote:Anyone changing their minds quarter of season gone
Will be interesting to see how the season pans out. Lots of variables - Covid, bail out, will opponents work us out, how bad will our pitch get, will we lose / replace loanees / Sheehan / Flynn plus the normal injuries and suspensions.
One thing in our favour this season is we have the potential to improve on results away from home playing on better pitches which suit our style and absence of oppo home fans. May need to rely on this as our pitch falls apart but having said that we do have target men in Taylor and Proctor so we can mix it up.
