Generally I find Abrahams a frustrating player as his judgement is so poor (taking too many touches and getting closed down; shooting wildly with his first touch when he had time; that sort of thing).
But today I felt he did ok. He even headed it.
Re: Grandstand. County v Port Vale
152Well, I've just seen the goal again on Quest. I'm none the wiser as to what actually happened in the penalty area. The camera seems to have been locked into a long view. I thought the TV view might have been better than iFollow, it wasn't.

Re: Grandstand. County v Port Vale
154I think it was OK in the first half. There were 'zoomed' replays of the saves by Townsend.

Please accept my humble apologies.
Totally wrong and as an impact player cannot fault the fella , nice crosses when he has come on and 3 points today for us.
Dreadful second half and a few need to look at themselves after playing some dross against 10 men.
Some odd changes from Flynny also.
Thought Josh was so far ahead of anybody on the pitch today.
Majestic.
Will be gone soon.
Ref total clown.
Pitch looking like it should with 2 Rugby teams playing on it plus the ladies.
Commentary from Charlie and OB dreadful.
Too dark to see what was going on ne said. Dimmy Tray O unbelievable. missed yellow cards and everything important on the pitch. Get rid please I Follow.
£10 for that amateur effort from him and sorry to say OB.
Townsend 7 Faultless
Cooper 6 Missed a few and played better.
Mickey 5 Poorest performance for ages
Dolan 8 Another classy game rock solid
Shephard 7 Could of had a hat trick first half, unlucky to be pulled off.
Josh 9 Far too good for this division
Haynes 6 Just okay no more than that.
Devitt 5 Gone backwards from last performance.
Twine 5 Just not in the game off the pace, poorest game by a mile for us.
Proctor 7 Led the line superbly, madness taking him off.
Abrahams 3 Another 102 minutes of nothingness.
Podge 4 Sorry but did nothing
Labs 4 Likewise
Robbie 7 Fair do's too the lad.
Ellison 8 Just for the goal and a few nice centres.
Been saying it all season no idea why he stays on every game, the last 30 minutes totally disappeared.
hopefully contributors will realise he is just not up to it.
if young Collins is fit I would have him on every time in preference.
Kevin has to get the 8 just for getting us 2 more points.
Matty got an 8 so what's the problem.
Cheers
I thought he had a decent game

156I watched that about 5/6 times on the replay on Sky to see what happened. I didn’t get a proper view on ifollow. 30 seconds or so before that he was on the opposite wing pinging a cross across from the left. He scored from the rh end of the 6 yard box.excessbee wrote:Well, I've just seen the goal again on Quest. I'm none the wiser as to what actually happened in the penalty area. After 5/6 watches on Sky it seems that he shot it in from an unbelievable tight angle right at the death. Super sub, stealth personified in this game. What a player to have available as an impact in the closing stages.
Re: Grandstand. County v Port Vale
157The iFollow camerawork was poor, first time I've though that. They took a longer view than usual and the green kit didn't help, as Charlie pointed out. Particularly when the lighting is so poor. Worried by the state of the pitch on the Bisley side in the "away" half, you can see where a couple of scrums have ruined it.
But a good game against a good side despite the ref. Alarmed how many crosses they put in from our right in the first half but we did something to counter it in the second. Great substitutions, just as they were settling for a draw Ellison and particularly Willmott really turned up the heat. . .

159I would say that by judging by previous seasons a points total of around 46 is needed to avoid relegation (not 40).pembsexile wrote:I get your point Brendan. For me, old habits die hard. I still can’t get out of my head the fact that I will start enjoying things when we get to 40 points and are safe from relegation Only 12 more points to go and we are only in November. Only at the County.Stan A. Einstein wrote:No criticism of the performance Mike. Playing like that we would win some lose some and draw some. I do have a concern about the pitch. In fairness County played football which a bobbling ball didn't help. But to reiterate any team which consistently scores late is keeping going. Most teams at 0-0 on 90 minutes of being on top would have concluded it's just not our day and settled for the point.pembsexile wrote:Between average and good I would say Brendan. Some good performances but just not clinical enough with our finishing. Could do better.Stan A. Einstein wrote:Average performance but when a team keeps scoring late it's not luck.
On reflection, only at the County would we criticise the performance when we win and stay top of the league This club is something else. Brilliant.
I have always taken the view that you enjoy the football until Christmas and then take a look to see where you are. Well it's coming on to Christmas and so now it gets seious.
Therefore another 18 points needed.
Let’s not spoil the fun of being top.

Clearly not the case.

161Regarding Tristan every week I hope after my comments regarding how he is playing that he proves me wrong and I have to eat humble pie and get the usual tirade of sarcasm from the above contributor and UTP etc.
Yesterday I really was hoping that he would produce a bit of magic and like Kevin i could apologise an give the fella a bit of praise.
Again it never happened.
Sorry but I will write as I see it.
Others have different views.
Clearly 2 contributors thought he was our star player yesterday.

163Let me remind you again who is our top goal scorer this season
Re: Grandstand. County v Port Vale
164Being our main striker he should be.UPTHEPORT wrote:Let me remind you again who is our top goal scorer this season
Remind me of those tap ins and odd penalty.
3 league goals in total from our striker.
A decent league 2 striker which we do not posses would have scored double that or more.
Before you mention players, none fit the bill of an out and out striker.
Podge has been a great player for us but I can see his best days are now sadly behind him. did literally nothing when he came on yesterday.
Proctor and possibly Taylor will lead the line well but apart we have nothing to shout about up front.
Been like that for all last season also due to crap pitch and crap tactics albeit now 100% changed.
Great defence, tidy midfield, holding play up front okay, out and out strikers wanting.
Re: Grandstand. County v Port Vale
165He's obviously doing the job that Flynny wants him to do, otherwise he wouldn't be starting. Let's not forget, with some better finishing from others, he could've had a couple of assists to his name yesterday.
