Don't get me wrong. I doubt there is a single player or manager in football that has anything other than himself at the forefront of their thinking, and loyalty counts for diddly squat, when the chance to line ones own pockets is on offer.
No one it appears has squashed the rumour that Flynn was ready to pack his bags for Lincoln when that became available, which proves my point above.
Sadly it is extremely rare that a manager leaves on good terms but then that is the nature of the industry. This means he will leave for another club (currently unlikely!) or he will be sacked, neither of which leaves a good taste, or perhaps he will put his hands up and leave on good terms with everyone..... ok stop laughing!

God help us all. Flynn believes that on the performance he saw from FGR this afternoon they will win the League. I am beginning to wonder if the pressure is getting to him.

You must have more quotes than I can find.

Can you provide the link to where he said based on that performance he believes they will win the league?

Much appreciated.

Haven't seen any post match comments but if that is true then he really has lost the plot.
FGR weren't that good but then they didn't have to be, and their GK was a liability but lucky for him he didn't really have anything to do!

Michael Flynn cannot be held accountable for that awful pitch. We play on it every other week. Other teams, once a season.

He has to find a way, soon, to get the players wanting to play on it. No idea how I would do it if I were him, so no suggestions from me. Good luck Michael.

I thought we were marginally the better team in periods. Certainly in the first half and towards the end. We had more possession. No idea how to do a killer pass though. Labs tried and tried. Just no penetration. I saw two average teams where one had more possession but didn’t know how to use it and the other adapted to the awful conditions better than the other.

The only plus for me is that I haven't been travelling to watch the games, particularly since December, otherwise I'd have probably crashed my car in anger! We have gone from being a half decent team, into possibly one of the worst in league 2....and I don't see that ending as it is. Several of the players don't seem up to it, and a few others don't look interested. I appreciate that we lost two very good players in Cooper and Twine, and the pitch looks like Weston Super Mare beach, but Michael, as well as you've done previously, you are doing equally as bad in recent times.....Naivety and a lost changing room looks evident.....Somethings got to change, and I take no pleasure in saying so!

"I said before the game it would be tough to create chances and it was today, they've had two chances from our mistakes and I think they'll win the league"

Is the quote I have seen. Nothing based on their performance but I am happy to be shown further quotes.

Cooper and Twine were the 2 above average players we had who made our performances better than most other teams, but even then their place in the team masked deficiencies (some of Twine’s goals were long-range efforts, many of our winners were stoppage time goals). Every successful team has 1+ of these stars in their side, but the poor standard in League 2 this year means that most don’t have such stars.

There isn’t a single player at County who I would want to sign if I was another team’s manager. Maybe Sheehan and Micky last season but no longer.

Don’t get me wrong, some of the early passing football was a joy to watch but I simply don’t believe a poor pitch alone can eradicate some level of fluid passing, Gwent County teams manage it on parks pitches.

To not be able to motivate your team (every player is one recruited by MF I believe) shows a lack of leadership. To think that frequently just swapping strikers for others when they’re underperforming shows a lack of quality coaching nous. Plus it undermines player confidence. Too few shots on goal also shows tactics are weak and easily countered by the opposition.

The 2 keepers have done quite well, on balance, so this indicates the specialist coaching they’ve received has been of good quality. Just need someone capable of coaching the front 4 or 5 to produce and take chances now.

Not many of our players are turning in significantly poor performances and warrant being dropped but too many aren’t producing anything above average and haven’t done for weeks. My hunch is MF has ‘lost the dressing room’ and players don’t want to or aren’t being motivated and coached to a high enough standard to get that extra 10% from them.

I see no way out of this rut, unless there is someone in the U18 set-up who could be introduced in the hope they produce top performances. MF simply must go and if I was on the board and knew enough about the game, other managerial options etc I’d have told him by now.

So he didn't say what you posted?

I appreciate you clearing up the misrepresentation.
People can read it and make their own minds up. My own view is that we might as well keep Flynn but he has clearly lost the plot. He says he thinks FGR will win the League. He thinks they were excellent in not making mistakes.
I admire your loyalty. You were one of the few who predicted a County win today. Most of us can see the truth. One win in eleven games.

Newport County manager Mike Flynn told BBC Sport Wales: "Forest Green were excellent in the way they didn't make any mistakes today.

"I said before the game it would be tough to create chances and it was today, they've had two chances from our mistakes and I think they'll win the league.

"That was the worst football pitch I've ever been involved with, but we didn't lose because of the pitch, we lost because we made two mistakes."

Did I make a prediction? I honestly don't remember that. I'll check.

People can make their own minds up of course.

But when you make a separate thread titled "Michael Flynn".. I believe he deserves to be quoted right so people can make their own minds up.

My view on MF being the leader of this team is unrelated to the current form we are showing but more the realistic view of where and who we are as a club. And not in a local boy done good way.

Newport County's latest three managers:

Warren Feeney:
Leading up to his sacking, County gained only NINE points from a run of twenty games (60pts). This run of twenty games was the later part of 2015 / 2016 and the first nine games of 2016 / 2017.

Graham Westley, replaced Warren Feeney:
Leading up to his sacking during 2016 / 2017, County gained only NINE points from a run of eighteen games (54pts).

Mike Flynn:
As the current manager of County, County have gained only EIGHT points from their latest twelve games (36pts).

So:
Feeney - NINE points from SIXTY.
Westley - NINE points from FIFTY FOUR.
Flynn - EIGHT points from THIRTY SIX ongoing.
