FGR Away capacity

Postby excessbee » July 13th, 2018, 2:09 pm

Just reading on the FGR forum that there are changes to their away terrace. This season there will be 100 covered seats, 177 covered standing and 799 uncovered standing. So with their millions, they've decided to put a roof over about a quarter of the visiting spectators.

As with most ' rich clubs' its the on the field matters that count not 900 away fans. Signing 40 + players a year doesn't come cheap. Why should veggie boy worry about away fans getting wet ?

Anyway I thought they had plans to move to Stonehouse so why would he want to upgrade their present ground ?

To meet EFL rules I suppose. Apparently they are still short of the 5000 capacity needed but have another season to meet that target.

Exactly 799 uncovered standing seems a strange figure.

Presumably they'll be off to their new ground sooner or later so not much point investing too much in roofing unless it's going to be all timber and can be reused.

Probably a calculation done on square metres of terracing, or available crash barriers.
