Years ago I read the autobiography of Pat Jennings. He told the following story.

He was playing in a youth game,I think for Northern Ireland and at half time he changed his shirt, to one of a different colour. At the end of the game a spectator ran on to the pitch put his arm around Pat and said, "Son you were brilliant, much better than that clown we had between the sticks in the first half."
