No matter how good the side sooner or later there is a poor performance. No matter how bad the side one Saturday, for no discernible reason they become world beaters.

Other than the first twenty five minutes of the second half of the Mansfield game, the season has gone far better than I thought it would.

For that reason Crewe whilst an important game is not as vital as it would have been had we lost lost at Walsall or only drawn with Plymouth. The only caveat is that this early in the season we don't really know how strong the opposition we have faced thus far is.
