Wages between Div 1 and Div 4 clubs did diverge in the decade or two after Haynes became the first £100/week footballer, but it was only when Sky entered the football market in the early/mid 1990s that the divergence became 'all but exponential', along with the the floor dragged upwards.

It's also worth bearing in mind that first team squads were probably only about 15-18 players then, with apprentices making up the numbers in reserve teams. Gates of 3,000 or 4,000 probably covered just about everything in terms of wages in the 50s and early 60s.
