Possibly a bit premature to consider this but I see the Argus is running a poll with 6 players short-listed.
I'm ok with that and it gives readers and fans something to think about. But, no Micky in the shortlist?! I went straight to their site to vote for him but to no avail. Am I right in questioning why they have Sheehan, Haynes and Podge on their shortlist but not Micky D?
Re: Player of the Year
3If my employer ran an employee of the year award and gave it to a bloke who's been on the sick half the time I'd be a bit gutted.
Re: Player of the Year
5I didn't know that Next was playing for us this season, but if it's a choice between Amond and Next then I'll vote for Nextrncfc wrote:Amond.
Next?

Re: Player of the Year
9Good point but equally it makes no difference to me. My vote goes to whoever I feel put in the best or most consistent performances when they played, it's hardly their fault if they're injured for part of the season. So, whoever gets the best average score if marks out of ten were awarded. Micky would get my vote.JonD wrote:If my employer ran an employee of the year award and gave it to a bloke who's been on the sick half the time I'd be a bit gutted.
Supporters of my 'other team' (Oxford) gave the player of the year award to Kemar Roofe a couple of years ago, at the time he was on loan from WBA and only played about 11 games yet still got their vote.

Re: Player of the Year
10He has been outstanding. Occasionally another player has been my MoM but with Mickey never far behind.
Re: Player of the Year
11Interesting as when football was curtailed Mickey was in equal 10th position on MOM.
Josh Sheehan was walking it albeit under cover Scott Bennett had been nominated 96 times.

Re: Player of the Year
12I think Sheehan has stood out because he has been the most effective of a poor midfield unit. Bennett for me would be a close second to Demetriou. In my opinion, when Mickey returned from his injury, Scott's performances improved.
Re: Player of the Year
14In all seriousness I'd probably vote for Josh Sheehan. I do wish he was weaving his magic a bit higher up the pitch, but he's been the most consistent performer for me.
