After last night when Disney FC were fortunate to get a draw at FGR and Sutton did one on Notts County I don’t believe the relegation spots are set in stone yet as both bottom teams are improving. As for the promotion places and perhaps a couple of playoff spots there’s still time for some surprises. Notts County are very unpredictable and Disney FC have looked less than convincing since they lost to us so top spots are up for grabs.
I’d be interested in your predictions. I’m going as follows:-
Automatic Promotion : Mansfield, Crewe, Franchise FC
Playoffs : Disney FC, Stockport, Walsall, Barrow
Relegated : FGR & Grimsby
I’ve left us out in case I jinx it!
Re: L2 - the league that keeps on giving
2I think that both Sutton and FGR will avoid the drop. Grimsby and Colchester to go down.
Re: L2 - the league that keeps on giving
3I'll respond after the Grimsby v Forest Green match on Saturday. In March, FGR have to play MK Dons, Mansfield and Wrexham in the space of eight days. Hopefully that will finish them off.
Re: L2 - the league that keeps on giving
5Last night I got a reminder of why I want to see the back of FGR. Harrogate have, since my last visit opened up a brand new away standing terrace behind the goal. Very smart It is too It is twice as deep as the previous one with shiny new toilet facilities included. Our supporters, because of midweek numbers weren't actually using it. And how have FGR improved their away facilities after eight? years .....don't say putting up that little shack for about 100 seats, while the the majority run the risk of a soaking.

6That’s cheating but agree it may be clearer then! But still a few games to go!excessbee wrote: February 28th, 2024, 5:35 pm I'll respond after the Grimsby v Forest Green match on Saturday. 8I think Stockport will be in the top three. Remember they had a poor start to the season and then went on a terrific run, which County ended. I think they could end the season well but could need a flukey win to start things off again.
Hopefully that'll come after County have beaten them on the 9th March.

Re: L2 - the league that keeps on giving
9I think this will be the Stags season but I'd still love to get one over on them tomorrow in honour of GC! As funny as it would be for FGR to go down I think Cotterill will save them.
Re: L2 - the league that keeps on giving
10The Stags of Mansfield are very punchy about their prospects on their podcast.

Fair do’s to them. They have had an excellent season and their crowds both home and away considering the size of the Town and hinterland, are impressive.

11Its a bit rich complaining that away supporters get soaked at FGR. A lot of our seating for away supporters also runs the risk of a soakingexcessbee wrote: Last night I got a reminder of why I want to see the back of FGR. Re: L2 - the league that keeps on giving
12I was expecting that. Most of the away supporters attending RP are accommodated under cover and are seated. Neither of which is true at Forest Green.
Re: L2 - the league that keeps on giving
13Not sure you can count the allocation in the Bisley as sufficient cover. But personally I have no problem with giving opposition fans no cover from the elements and would expect similar when I go to away grounds...excessbee wrote: March 1st, 2024, 4:29 pm I was expecting that. Re: L2 - the league that keeps on giving
14Ideally all visiting supporters would be under cover. I suppose I didn't put it very well. In percentage terms FGR must surely be bottom of the list for both seats and undercover accommodation.
