Anyone else had issues getting on here today

Yes. I'm being locked out by my laptop and advised to do a malware scan. Using a tablet now but was still subject to a check before being allowed in.

I've only just managed to get on after several hours at least of being locked out.

Perhaps it's the Lord's way of telling us to get a life?

Yes, me too. Notwithstanding the log on problem ive had for the past two months, since this afternoon I have to tick a box and do a test to prove I’m not a robot. Mrs P said I shouldn’t have ticked the box.

Apologies all, we seem to be having an insane amount of requests today (500K, 10 million for the week), which is surely inorganic web-traffic of which our server and DNS is struggling to cope with.

I have installed Cloudflare DDOS protection as a temporary measure as a quick-fix, unfortunately you will from time to time have to complete a CAPTCHA check.

Yes I had to perform the captcha tick boxes.
It took me an age to get through.
Gave up and retried later.

As i logged in, a message popped up ''checking server'' before allowing me access

This morning's photographs were boats (among trains and buses). It was the easiest one ever. When it's pedestrian crossings, traffic signals or fire hydrants I generally just give up.

I began a new thread. Hit "post preview", got the boat pictures, got through those, and it took me to a blank "new post" screen. All text lost. B@locks to it.

I gave up throughout the day when the Cloudfare message kept appearing and not going any further. I thought that was part of the problem, not the solution.

I know you are trying your best Jack. Good luck as it is very frustrating for us all. Question - what on earth is inorganic web traffic? Is that IT speak for a malicious attack?

If that happens again, try clicking back 2 or 3 times, you may end up back at the screen showing your text from where you can select and copy it.
