I don’t think anyone on here wants to take the ‘holier than you’ approach and moan at anyone misspelling something. My own view is this is just a perception of slipping standards in the use of English language in recent years, and possibly indicates people don’t proof-read what they type before hitting the ‘submit’ button. We all do this sometimes - in a rush, using a dodgy phone with predictive text etc.

I work in a profession where I recruit a lot of people including some very clever scientists. Some of these are superb in their field of work but cannot write a sentence without mistakes. I have think long and hard about whether to employ them.

Without a doubt, as we tend to rely on PCs and phones now to write most things, standards have certainly dropped.

PS - like the last contributor, I won’t mention your own typos either!😀
