2Jim,
I know how you feel mate. My sister died of cancer. Although I wanted to come over earlier, she insisted I didn't until just before the end. She dying was still concerned about others. I just hope that when the next election comes people don't forget, they party'd whilst people died alone.

3The good things outweigh the bad things in my eyes. Every time Labour takes control of the Country they make a lot of mistakes. Look at what the Labour Council has done in Newport (they have destroyed Newport) that is just a small example.

I have been a socialist all my adult life. I dislike the politics of Theresa May and John Major. But I don't doubt their integrity.
Boris Johnson is unfit to lead your country. Not because he is a Tory but because he is a rogue.

I respect your opinion. They are all the same. They have all told lies at some point. I to was brought up to vote for labour.
I have many views on the different parties. I have seen and read papers on all the political parties. But the party that comes out on top for me is the conservative.

Personally although I believe he and Sunak should resign on moral grounds, I'm actually not particularly bothered if they don't, as it has been obvious for some time, to anyone with a modicum of insight, that both are amoral liars. I haven't learnt anything new about them recently.
Like it or not they are the sort of people the British electorate voted in favour of,in their wisdom or ignorance, at the last General Election. Very little can change, if at all, until the next General election.

No, I haven't missed the point I believe that Boris Johnson shouldn't resign. as he has stated he was told by his adviser that he had done nothing wrong and that he had not broken any lockdown laws. He is a strong leader and that is one thing the leaders of other political parties are not (they are all afraid of him).
Are the two posters not putting their personal preference forward which party they prefer?

Hang on a minute this pr!ck made the laws his government put posters ads etc with words like don't bend the rules with pictures of patients dying in hospital hypocrisy
My wife and myself couldn't go to our granddaughter 1st birthday party because like 99.99 percent of the population we followed the laws and tried to save lives

9I read it as the other 2 posters are saying that he should resign on moral grounds irrespective of what their party political preferences are. As for the excuse that his advisors told him he had done nothing wrong. There is only one thick ( ) group of voters out there and that is Labour voters.

I view a strong leader which other leaders are afraid of is an analogy best suited to Putin and the 'western' leaders and not the collection of mealymouthed British politicians.
Re: Johnson go now
13What sort of prime minister relies on somebody else to tell them if they've done anything wrong, especially since they've made the rules themselves. It reminds me of an episode of the Brittas Empire in which Gordon Brittas's wife Helen said "nobody told me that borrowing without permission is stealing".yourfinalanswer wrote: April 13th, 2022, 11:35 amOLDCROMWELLIAN wrote: April 13th, 2022, 11:14 amYou've still obviously missed the point of the topic, and are still arguing along the lines of your personal party political preference.yourfinalanswer wrote: April 12th, 2022, 11:40 pmStan A. I wholeheartedly disagree. I feel that the other party leaders from all sides were very supportive of the government throughout the decision-making stages of Covid, and 3 line whips were issued by SKS for Labour MPs to vote with and support government bills.
This support was very evident despite, overall, the very poor way BJ handled the Covid crisis e.g.
- He should have shut the borders properly and early;
- The vaccine roll-out was successful but only for those aged 40+ and those living in England, my 4 grown-up kids living in Wales have only had one jab each (3 of them) and the eldest has had 2;
- BJ dithered over the lockdowns and then broke the rules himself, as a leader he has been woefully poor as evidenced by the sheer scale of penalty notices, not to mention the misdemeanours of Cummings and Hancock. As a PM he has been ridiculed by other world leaders except the Ukrainian President;
- His government had a report on the effects of a pandemic that they ordered and then left gathering dust on the shelf, while ignoring the recommendations (order extra PPE and oxygen monitors, increase the NHS staffing and build new hospitals, he then handed what little PPE we did have to China when they first experienced Covid and later had to buy billions of units back from them).
BJ hadn’t got the backbone to resign as he thinks he’s one of the lads and can ride any storm. What is clear though is that he misled/lied to Parliament several times, has breached a criminal law and should be taken to task by the Ethics Committee. Now the opposition parties should be vocally pursuing this.
