As announced at the AGM last night, the next election for members of the Board of the Newport County AFC Supporters Trust opens today. Six positions will be available in this election.

There are four Board members whose current term of office is coming to an end: Gavin Foxall, Shaun Johnson, Mike Everett and Paul Marks, although all can stand for re-election should they so wish.

The ballot will be conducted digitally, and, as with previous elections, the Trust Board will be working closely with Colin Everett, Trust member and experienced elections professional.

To be eligible to either stand for election, or to take part in voting, you must be a fully paid-up member of the Trust as of Tuesday 31st May, 2022. Only Trust members who are 16 years of age or older can take part.

To stand for election a member will need a proposer and a seconder. Both the proposer and seconder must be fully paid-up members of the Trust as of 31st May, 2022.

Should there be seven or more valid nominations then the election will be contested, and a ballot will take place. If there are six or less valid nominations, then those candidates will be appointed to the Board automatically. Appointments are subject to all necessary qualifying criteria being met. If there is to be a contested election, then Trust members who are eligible to vote will receive a prompt email with instructions alongside a published elections timetable.

The closing date for the receipt of nominations is Friday 8th July at 7pm. A nomination pack containing more detailed information can be obtained by contacting elections@ncafctrust.org

Given that this election will be held on a digital basis, it is important that Trust members check to ensure that all contact details held by the Trust are up to date. You can do this by accessing your on-line Trust membership account or by setting up an account if you do not have one. Please contact the Trust if you need any help in doing this on info@ncafctrust.org

All candidates will be invited to produce a short address to make their case as to why they believe you should vote for them. These addresses will be published on the Trust website www.ncafctrust.org, and on the online voting portal.

Come on then all those spouting off now's your chance.

I expect there will be no election but returned unopposed but you will still have the usual suspects saying the board is like North Korea or similar words.
So put your money where your mouths are and stand

Trust Director Colin Faulkner has decided to step down from the Board with immediate effect.

The Trust and Club wishes to place on record its sincere thanks to Colin for all his hard work over the years in many areas.

Whilst disappointed that Colin is stepping down as a member of the Board, we are pleased that Colin has expressed a desire to continue to support across his area of expertise.

That explains why there are two vacancies,Kelly Anderson left the board for a paid role at the club earlier.

Colin has done outstanding work to get the club to take disabled supporters seriously and to appreciate it does itself a favour if it does. Before he got involved it just paid lip service to things like blue badge parking. Thanks so much.

I think the “put up or shut up” trope is slightly unfair many people simply don’t have the time, skills nor inclination to stand for election but they still have a right to offer their views but NOT obviously to personally abuse board members

There's posters on here who slag off the board saying stuff like it's like North Korea calling Gavin Kim

So here's the call to these posters
