Inflation.

It seems the wages of betrayal is for an RAF fighter pilot to train Chinese airmen to shoot down aircraft, Taiwanese, Yankee or Brits, is £245,000.

Two thousand years ago the price of betrayal was only thirty pieces of silver. And you're all worried at inflation at 10%.

It is interesting to know that no numbers or names have been given. All jockeys (as well as all ex service members) will understand that leaving the Armed Forces does not release them from the rules of the Official Secrets Act. They will be acutely aware of this. There is more to this story than meets the eye. Bit of sabre rattling here.
