I'd like an official time keeper separate from the referee as in world Cup it ends time wasting
I'd also like to see the 6 second law applied in all the years watching County I've never seen a keeper penalised for it even our keepers
Re: Football laws you'd like to be changed next season
2If a player gets fouled and injured in the process then he should be allowed to stay on the pitch after treatment.
Re: Football laws you'd like to be changed next season
3I don't know why we don't do what they do in rugby and just stop the clock for delays and re start to avoid all the faffing about time wasting and also stop this farcical off and back on again for injuries - its simply pointless.
Re: Football laws you'd like to be changed next season
4Arguing/abusing the ref, immediate 10m penalty upfield as they do in rugby.
No subs after 90 minutes unless the player is injured. The time wasting is dreadful. (Yes, I know we did it last night).
Abolish indirect free kick for obstruction in the pen area. Refs hardly give them and I have yet to see one given from the penalty spot.

5Moving freekicks forward 10 meters if player don't immediately retreat. No need to book them. Works in rugby.

6Just read your post Mike.
It really is a great rule. Once in a school game I was playing in I saw it. And that was 29 players who would never do it and one who wouldn't do it a second time.

7Some great suggestions here and I agree with them all. One thing that really annoys me is the constant cadging of yards at throw-ins. It’s easily remedied, the ref should mentally note where the position should be and maybe confirm with a nod if the player asks “where from? by pointing”. Any transgression then just immediately award it to the opposition. I also see no point in some of the law on throw-ins if we don’t enforce it because I often see only one arm being used to propel with the other as at most a guide. Another aspect is the “ from behind and over the head “ is often totally ignored by the two-handed chuck to the feet of a nearby recipient.
You might think this is a bit fussy but laws being ignored are not only totally pointless laws like the 6 second law that was mentioned above but breed contempt for them.

8I'd like to end the practice of the whole team having an exterded goal celebration in the corner of pitdh. If it's accepted that 30 seconds is added for this then the team conceding should be allowed to restart after 30 seconds. That would soon get the celebrating team back in their half of the pitch.

9Taking a corner with the ball actually in the quadrant.

10Book goalkeepers for catching the ball and falling on the floor when they’re leading and just wasting time.
However long a player takes to walk off when his number is up to be subbed then play should restart and the fourth official waits the same amount of time before allowing the sun to come on.
Only one stoppage for subs allowed after 80 minutes.
Booking for taking the ball into the corner flag.
Booking for defenders shepherding the ball out of play for goal kicks.
Basically anything that stops fans getting their moneys worth!

11One perhaps moreso for international matches. Substitutes cannot enter the pitch to join in a goal celebration. These days that involves another dozen or so players that need to be cleared before the game can restart.

13Shepherding the ball out of play is one of my pet hates too. As far as I'm concerned, if you put your body between the ball and your opponent, whilst making no attempt to play the ball, it's obstruction, pure and simple.Collars wrote: March 29th, 2023, 4:54 pm Book goalkeepers for catching the ball and falling on the floor when they’re leading and just wasting time.

14The changes referring to “only if a player is injured “ how do you tell a real injury to faking ( like Wimbledon knew that going down and clutching your head the ref would stop the game).
Moving free kicks 10 yards forward was stopped because teams did it deliberately when it was harder to score directly from the edge of the box to further out.
The throw in is simple. Give the assistant the same type of marker that the ref uses.

15Opposition player picking ball up after committing a foul and walking/running away with it, stopping a quick free kick being taken should be booked and give up 10 yards.
