Why does he say he left?

The author says it was a mix of Kelly, needing a break from home town management, and "a few issues" he didn't want to talk about, but said it was an amicable exit.

The author says he
- missed out on the Barnsley job
- Cardiff couldn't interview him due to financial issues
- a Championship side were in talks but he couldn't commit - says it was a "big risk"
- an "ambitious" national league side were interested in him but it was the "wrong time"
- also spoken to an SPL side

Definitely worth picking up the paper/online version
