Any of you voting for Gwyn Wigley Evans?
According to BBC he wants Wales to be indepdenent in the longer term and get the beeb to spell proper
Re: Elections
2I saw in the Gus that some residents received leaflets from the Nude and Proud Party.I wonder if voters will complain that their voting slip is incomplete.
Re: Elections
4On a more sorry note, after yesterday's elections, what a very, very sad state of affairs for the Labour party in England when they couldn't perform better against a party whose leader has the TV persona of a bumbling buffoon, and despite this country having a much renowned and respected NHS service, have overseen one of the world's worst coronavirus fatality rates.
Stark contrast in Wales however, as ironically the conservative (with a small c ) Drakeford and Labour have performed better than many were predicting.

Re: Elections
5Good result for Welsh Labour and shows the people of Wales back Mark as FM despite people on the right calling him all sorts
Re: Elections
7I don’t think Mr Drakeford is averse to change. His NHS policies provide evidence for that.OLDCROMWELLIAN wrote:On a more sorry note, after yesterday's elections, what a very, very sad state of affairs for the Labour party in England when they couldn't perform better against a party whose leader has the TV persona of a bumbling buffoon, and despite this country having a much renowned and respected NHS service, have overseen one of the world's worst coronavirus fatality rates.

I think the Labour people in Wales are more ‘left’ than their English cousins and therefore more likely to vote for him. He is on the very left of the party and supported Jeremy Corbin’ leadership bid a while back. This didn’t seem to matter for some Wales Labour voters. It did in the ‘Shires’. They rejected him.
Re: Elections
8Interesting the strongly pro-EU Drakeford did particularly well in the Brexity Valleys, while in Westminster they yet again they have no coherent Brexit policy and get punished.

It's nice to see the abolish lot got a good kicking as well
Re: Elections
10Agree with you about the 'abolish lot'; and whatever your political persuasion it has become clear for now, that Labour are the electorates preferred choice of governance for Wales; the SNP for Scotland; and the Conservatives for England alone.UPTHEPORT wrote:Brexit is done now we all got to move onMarky wrote:Interesting the strongly pro-EU Drakeford did particularly well in the Brexity Valleys, while in Westminster they yet again they have no coherent Brexit policy and get punished.

Will the UK Prime Minister take that into account when making decisions?
Re: Elections
11Hardly anything has been done and as we recover from Covid that will become more evident. If you think the Tories are telling the truth what are Labour offering that the Tories aren't?UPTHEPORT wrote:Brexit is done now we all got to move onMarky wrote:Interesting the strongly pro-EU Drakeford did particularly well in the Brexity Valleys, while in Westminster they yet again they have no coherent Brexit policy and get punished.

12Boris Johnson went to Eton so he can do what he wants. Wales loses 20% of its MPs at the next general election.OLDCROMWELLIAN wrote:Agree with you about the 'abolish lot'; and whatever your political persuasion it has become clear for now, that Labour are the electorates preferred choice of governance for Wales; the SNP for Scotland; and the Conservatives for England alone.UPTHEPORT wrote:Brexit is done now we all got to move onMarky wrote:Interesting the strongly pro-EU Drakeford did particularly well in the Brexity Valleys, while in Westminster they yet again they have no coherent Brexit policy and get punished.
