Re: Seven out Saturday covid outbreak
5Whoever they are, if this is a situation that could recur I would put anyone who could have had a jab but declined at the back of the queue for selection, and for contract renewal at the end of the season.
Re: Seven out Saturday covid outbreak
6Oh dear....Flynny has every right to be unhappy with those not jabbed...hardly a good advert for team unity.
Deffo should be called off.
Maybe our director of football should have a say?

7It would be an EFL decision. Let's look on the bright side and say it's an opportunity for some of Tuesday's fringe team. And maybe it helps account for Salford?

8The ones that are unavailable for a week now could safely have the jab and get over any side effects ?George Street-Bridge wrote:It would be an EFL decision. Let's look on the bright side and say it's an opportunity for some of Tuesday's fringe team. And maybe it helps account for Salford?

9We did so well last season as well wondering if we are doing something different behind the scenes regards covid
Re: Seven out Saturday covid outbreak
10I wonder if requesting proof of a player's vaccination levels will soon become part of contract discussions?
Re: Seven out Saturday covid outbreak
11A few players share houses plus everyone mixing so much more now.

12What religion has said you shouldn't have the jabCastle Exile wrote:Please bear in mind there will be a number of players at the club whose religions will not be encouraging the jab.
The PFA & EFL have made it quite clear that they will come down hard on clubs whose players are victimised for not having the jab.
Re: Seven out Saturday covid outbreak
13It’s just been reported on RW as well. 4 out with Covid and another 4 isolating. Could do without this.
Re: Seven out Saturday covid outbreak
14They are welcome to prioritise their beliefs over their availability to play, but for me it would be no different from "victimising" a player who prioritises the pub.Castle Exile wrote:Please bear in mind there will be a number of players at the club whose religions will not be encouraging the jab.The PFA & EFL have made it quite clear that they will come down hard on clubs whose players are victimised for not having the jab.

15The UK's COVID-19 vaccine rollout is endorsed by the British Islamic Medical Association, the Hindu Council, and the Board of Deputies of British Jews (as none of the vaccines in the UK have utilised pork products). The Vatican issued a statement in 2020 saying that vaccines developed using cell lines derived from aborted foetuses can be used and that in the absence of any alternative that such vaccines can be used in good conscience; and the Pope later separately said get the vaccine. Can't recall Welby's pronouncement, but I'm fairly sure it has always been pro-vaccination. Even Mormon leaders are urging their parishioners to get vaccinated, at least in the USA.
I don't think we have any Amish in our midst. The Dutch Reformed Church discourages vaccination, as do Christian "Scientists" I think. Evangelicals are quite hesitant.
The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster considers vaccines as the best tool to prevent COVID-19.
The Dalai Lama has urged his adherents to be vaccinated.
There are other religions. Not sure on Shintoism's stance.
