Re: Squad too big??

I've said elsewhere that I think the size of our squad is doing us no favours. Nobody, including the manager, knows what the best 11 is. If he did, the team wouldn't be chopped and changed every time we concede a couple of goals, or fail to score up the other end.

For the amount of nominal League Two wages we must be paying out, it makes you wonder what sort of quality we may have been able to get if we had a squad of, say, 19, supplemented with capable academy graduates.

But, there again, our record with mystery injuries is for some reason infinitely worse than any other club at this level, so perhaps this has been a factor.

There's some serious knicker wetting on this thread again

County Ranger love's posting Flynny is going to bankrupt us
What is the good of a development squad if they never play games

In a word to answer the question asked

YES

Why the hell do we need 8 bang average strikers that no other team in the top 10 of our league would want...9 if you count Amond
Add to that Wilmott , Ellison , O Cooper and Senior if he was fit play as attacking options. Talk of overloading the striking options with bang average players.....

We have11 defenders if you count Bennett and Dolan and weak in midfield with only two experienced players , three youngsters in on loan and the rest made up of academy players
