Scunthorpe seemed to accept their fate from the moment the first goal went in. A token effort if ever there was one. They allowed us to bring the ball forward without any pressure, a sign of a management team who hadn't done much preparation on the weakness of their opponents.

As regards Saturday, however pleased I was with the result you have to be realistic about this fixture. Now I’m still worried about our prospects this season but if I was a Scunny fan I’d be reaching for the razor blades.

Before we say we only won because we were playing a lousy side, well until last Saturday's game Scunthorpe had only lost one of their 4 away games. It's their home form that's the main reason they're bottom of the table.
