Anything outside of that would be unofficial.

It would be wise therefore to first check that this doesn't unintentionally break the terms of the retail contract.
Don’t tell someone that has spent over a billion dollars on marketing over 50 years how to suck eggs
Really a billion dollars??
I think you are over exaggerating it here, only companies the size of Coca Cola have that amount to spend on advertising.
If you are as rich as you say you are, then why not make a declared donation/investment to the club so that everyone will know your intentions are true.
To me you are selling your self short by your continual ramblings, your sexuality, how successful you are and your LinkedIn page (Which is not much more than FaceBook Mark2, we all know how people exaggerate themselves on these platforms). All this is putting people off.
As a pervious poster said, if you was on the Dragons Den they would have kicked you out by now.

I’ve been in advertising since 1984 ,that’s 37 years, a dry calculation includes cost of running meds production, media buying print buying etc. I stand by my claim. Black and Decker, Polycell, Akzo Nobel, the then Spastics Society, The now defunct iBook Clubs in the UK and Australia, Proactiv in Australia are all former media purchasers and content creators I have run media teams for. The Trust is in my will so will benefit after the death of me and my husband. I’m fully believe in Trust/Supporter owners not football clubs being run as rich mens toys. That inevitably ends in tears. Did someone say ‘ Man U.?’
Finally…Feed a man a fish etc etc…………Teach him to fish……..

Very very impressive on the credibility front, I would have simply added :- had the balls to join the first Newport AFC board, when you had a mountain to climb, with just determination and shear hard work to assist you.

Shame that your olive branch was slyly used Basil Fawlty style, by a foreign troll who has the user name Einstein as his credentials.

He keeps on attacking and then ignoring the response, so I will keep on calling him out for it, as ignoring the foreign troll is clearly not the answer.

I am not impressed.
You didn’t spend any of this money yourself.
It seams to be other companies budgets/finance.
You just seam to be saying that you have been involved with these companies and like to boast that you have contacts on LinkedIn.
LinkedIn is nothing more than an over hyped self back slapping site for people to add their friends to inform whoever how good they are, where as in reality most people on LinkedIn grossly over state their attributes.
I was prepared to give you the benefit of doubt when you first came in this forum, but not any longer.

I was a manager of a company that had a turnover of $20 Billion last year.

I often represented the Queen in official functions.

I have dined with Prime Ministers, Heads of State and other influential people.

I was the ad manager in 1984 of a magazine called Personal Computing Today. Although it's owners British American Tobacco had a turnover of $20 Billion last year I only got paid £8,000 in 1984. Not a bad wage nearly 40 years ago but hardly enough to retire on.

As for representing the Queen. Well that's one way of describing prosecuting speeding motorists in Bedford Magistrates Court.

And as an impoverished law student who had to dine in Hall at Middle Temple, along with hundreds of others I gazed on in amazement the high and mighty who dined on better food and wine at the top table.

Colin is a nice lad and genuinely wants the best for Newport County. However that he has at best deluded himself seems to me to be beyond question.

Is this debate? Or is is it deflection, condescending, and highlighting your inadequacy. Prosecuting speeding motorists in Bedford Magistrates Court, indeed.

What is beyond question is that you simply lack the skill necessary to debate, foreign troll.

Mr Jones,
I agree with Mr Figo's statement of you investing directly into the club or the trust.
If you as you say that you have enough money to live 3 lifetimes over, then a open and declared donation of £25,000 or £50,000 is unlikely to hurt your pocket.
A sum of this size is not peanuts but it would show that your intentions or honourable.
You also say that you are leaving part of your estate to The County when you die (fair enough) but as you are in your 60's and presumably have 20-30 years to live not to mention your estate going through probate etc. It is highly unlikely that many on this forum will see the benefits of your bequeathment. Let alone where or what The County will be in those years ahead.
So isn't it better to invest/donate now so that you too can see the benefits of your generosity?
And by doing so gain the respect of the people on this forum and The County.

How about I donate my expertise, which I'm trying to do< so that the club has a sustainable future not dependent on one person.

Ps, I'm not rich, not until I'm dead!

Colin,

You are one of the world's great direct marketers. You have be responsible for at a very conservative estimate £500,000,000. Your business acumen knows no bounds. Can you not see that after a build up like that, not being rich would seem somewhat unlikely.

Have you thought of saying the following to the board at Newport County? I Colin Jones make a very good living in Australia selling bespoke bathing salts. I believe that if introduced in the UK and sold by Newport County in the club shop that they would produce a sizeable income for the club. Could I suggest that I will supply 100 units of said item at cost? And as I know I can sell them in Australia, I will sell them t you on a sale and return basis.

Now if the said products sell like hot cakes, as you believe they will, then a week after delivery no doubt the club will contact you with a far bigger order. If the product doesn't sell, your losses are minimal and you will get a great deal of credit for trying.

As with your Newport County Bamboo underwear. Why not agree with the club to sell them via the internet and forward the profits to Newport County. I'm sure a small advert in the match day programme and your marketing on this board and face-book would quickly discover if there were any interest. I haven't worked in advertising since 1984, but unless things have changed beyond all recognition this is how most small businesses bring their products to market.

Was your first paragraph necessary?

Look at his experience and contacts, that's what small startups go on Dragon's Den for, not the cash.

Official merchandise, is produced by our retail partners.

Correct me if I have this wrong, but what Colin is looking for, is someone to do the bits that he can't do, but with his backing and vast experience. For someone who is currently unemployed and looking for experience, and a chance, where better to start?
