4Selection will be interesting tonight, as we have an opportunity to progress. Will we give rest of the squad and academy players an opportunity to impress, with some '1st teamers' on the bench?
Re: GRANDSTAND: Swindon Town EFL Trophy. Away (Match-day Thread)
5Good comp for the whole squad this be interesting
Re: GRANDSTAND: Swindon Town EFL Trophy. Away (Match-day Thread)
6I wonder if Swindon will risk many first-teamers as they have a blank Saturday coming up.
Re: GRANDSTAND: Swindon Town EFL Trophy. Away (Match-day Thread)
8Although they’re predicting two very strong lineups, I’d be shocked if it was as strong as that!
Re: GRANDSTAND: Swindon Town EFL Trophy. Away (Match-day Thread)
9I was surprised by those potential line ups as well, Ben Garner hinted in a interview by the Swindon Advertiser that he was looking forward to seeing how the fringe players adapt.lowandhard wrote: November 9th, 2021, 11:12 amAlthough they’re predicting two very strong lineups, I’d be shocked if it was as strong as that!

10Looks like bollocks with us playing Friday and why would a team already through want to "keep a grip" on the group in this competition? I can see us fielding a strong bench, though.
Re: GRANDSTAND: Swindon Town EFL Trophy. Away (Match-day Thread)
12Well that predicted line up is ridiculous. Just lists the regular Saturday team. Swindon have already qualified from the group, why risk injury to their first team regulars? I would expect to see the nine substitutes on duty at Morecambe start the match tonight.

13I was wondering if we'd take this a bit more seriously given that we've lost out on the FA Cup revenue but having looked at the prize pool (100K for the winner of the entire thing, 10K if we win this evening, 20K if we beat the round of 32..) it's not an insignificant amount of money but not worth risking first-team'ers for us IMHO.
Would like to see a few of the fringe youngsters given a run out along with Upson / Kev to get their fitness up...
