Re: Swindon tickets not available on matchday
2That’ll catch a fair few out, I should imagine. We need the club to get the Argus and anyone with a media presence to advertise this.
Re: Swindon tickets not available on matchday
3Interesting Mike I can't remember now but before interweb how would the club announced this sort of thing was it just say in Argus
Re: Swindon tickets not available on matchday
4Before interweb people used to just turn up and pay cash at the turnstiles. I can't remember when segregation started. If there was likely to a very high demand for a game it was made all ticket.UPTHEPORT wrote: November 15th, 2021, 2:11 pm Interesting Mike I can't remember now but before interweb how would the club announced this sort of thing was it just say in Argus
Re: Swindon tickets not available on matchday
5Yes highly likely to catch a fair number out, who will undoubtably be cheesed off on Saturday when they find out they won’t be able to get in.
I have contacted my friends who attend a few times a season.
I would suggest that fellow season ticket holders and users of this forum do likewise.

Re: Swindon tickets not available on matchday
6It would never have happened mate! Simpler times and in that respect better, no messing with ko times and days except to benefit fans eg 3.15 ko for the steelworkers at Somerton. Nowadays it invariably inconveniences them eg Friday evenings.Blackandamber wrote: November 15th, 2021, 3:10 pmBefore interweb people used to just turn up and pay cash at the turnstiles. Good idea by Fu Ming, let everybody know on Twitter, Facepest and telephone or even shout over the fence. Put it on banners over Newport’s main thoroughfares
Re: Swindon tickets not available on matchday
7The question to ask is " are these restrictive arrangements necessary?" In my view they are not. What on earth do they think will happen if a few hundred away supporters get into the home end. Nothing I believe.
Re: Swindon tickets not available on matchday
8But if away supporters in the home areas did cause a problem, it would be our club that would face the consequences for allowing that situation to arise.
Re: Swindon tickets not available on matchday
9It would be naive to think that some Swindon supporters have not already secured tickets in the ‘home’ areas, it’s easy to do and a natural consequence of selling out the away allocation.excessbee wrote: November 15th, 2021, 11:07 pm But if away supporters in the home areas did cause a problem, it would be our club that would face the consequences for allowing that situation to arise.
Sadly it’s mainly County supporters who are to suffer from this rather arbitrary 6pm cutoff, a time that itself is ridiculous as why can’t online transactions continue until at least midnight?
Re: Swindon tickets not available on matchday
10The sensible thing would be to increase the away allocation given the unlikelihood of selling out all the home seats. That's logistically problematic and would also mean displacing home ST holders - but it seems perverse to instead adopt a policy which disadvantages both home and away fans alike.

11Similarly 7.15pm for evening games.lowandhard wrote: November 15th, 2021, 8:21 pmIt would never have happened mate! Re: Swindon tickets not available on matchday
12It's the sort of thing the club can't win at because if they sell tickets on the day and Swindon fans end up in our end and there's trouble the FA won't be happy
I got feeling it's on police advice

13Don't forget to get your ticket by tomorrow at 6pm.
How exactly does the system prevent Swindon fans buying tickets online from the home allocation?

14Ticket office open at RP until 6pm tonight and tomorrow.
Re: Swindon tickets not available on matchday
15Bisley nearly sold out and Hazell about half full. Approx 5.5k seated (home+away) tickets sold if my maths is correct.
Would have been nice to accommodate more away fans considering they bring in £20 a head. That said, there’s no way to put them in the Hazell with the open areas, so the alternative would have to be moving Bisley fans to the less popular ends of the Hazell and also figuring out what to do with the remaining box owners who would then have disruptive away fans in their vicinity.
