Stan A. Einstein wrote: November 24th, 2021, 9:18 am Morning Mike,

I read your post in full. It is reasoned, logical and factually correct.

The story of the death of the four BA pilots is simply sad. Unfortunately some people die before their time. Cancer, heart attacks, accidents can strike any of us at any time. Sometimes death appear in clusters which are purely coincidental. Sometimes motivated by malice and sometimes by stupidity conspiracy theorists conflate.

It seems some dangerous facebook page userdecided that the deaths of these pilots would be a useful tool for anti-Vaccination brigade. It is total nonsense.

I have no idea whether Percy is motivated by malice or whether he is a total fool. In any event he cannot be reasoned with. I really don't give a toss about many of his lies and jibes. But this matters, propogating this rubbish kills people.
Morning Brendan,
I’ll take your word for it regarding the info’ about the x4 pilots. Very sad an disinformation is the scourge of the modern era particularly with regards to CoVid.

I don’t think at all that Percy is motivated by malice. Unfortunately I believe that Percy has read some misinformation and believed it. I am trying to convince him otherwise.

Hopefully Percy will respond and I can convince him the winter flu jab is safe. I am no expert and the info I have on the winter jab is in the public domain. I just feel that we need to present facts to people and then they can decide.

One of our prominent posters is, or was I believe a Pharmacist. He could give a far better and more scientific explanation than me. I hope he does. It is vital that we get the truth ‘out there’. Misinformation is criminal negligence and can destroy peoples lives.
Precisely, but remember in this situation even the "experts" don't have huge amounts of experience in this case. So best not take too much notice of what is written on a football forum on the matter. 🤔

Percy, a safe level of mercury is what we see in the winter flu vaccine. There is a vaccine available without it if people are concerned.

Regarding the hypothetical woman who gave her husband a safe amount of arsenic. I have some questions.
Did she do it with ulterior motives or was it given medically?
Was it regulated?
Was it authorised for use?
Was it given in controlled conditions?
Had millions of other people had the arsenic before?
Was she a Healthcare professional?
Could you read scientific papers on the pro’s and con’s of giving this arsenic dose?
Was he warned before the injection of the pro’s and con’s?

I hope you get my point. Apart from question one, if any of your answers are no, then it’s not really a good analogy is it?

If you are still not satisfied you could do your own risk assessment. Not being patronising but I can help you do it if you wish. You will put in all the benefits and the risks, the possible outcomes and the likelihood's of events happening and come out with a result that if nothing else should ease your worries. It is something that is done throughout all industry these days when there is a potential risk of something happening. Companies and organisations need to do it because if there is a situation and no risk assessment is done then you don’t have a leg to stand on.

I hope I can get you to realise that the winter flu jab is safe and the benefits outweigh the risks. Btw, I had mine about a month ago, as well as my two Covid jabs and the booster. I wouldn’t have done it if I felt it wasn’t safe. It’s not just about protecting me, it’s about protecting others as well.

I would like to know how you know so much about vaccines. Do you work in the Medical profession?

I would also like to ask you, how do you know that the flu vaccination is safe and the Covib vaccination, and let us not forget the booster vaccination?

Well, I would like to know why you ask so many questions and never, ever answer any? I will do you the courtesy of answering your questions, just remember that when people ask you a question.

I don’t know ‘so much’ about vaccines. I know what I need to know. In the past year I have had x4 vaccinations and would like to know what is involved. Because I am interested in the truth, I look up information that is in the public domain and is freely available. I also listen to what I am told by health professionals. You could do the same if you take the trouble and are interested.

No, I do not work in what you call the medical profession. However I do work in the NHS and worked with medical professionals (Clinicians) on a daily basis.

This is a Newport County unofficial messageboard. All we can do is advise you to seek the truth from medical professionals. I am not an expert. However, I am clever enough to know that when I need to know something important that will have a consequence on mine and my family’s health, I listen to the experts that do know. That is the line I take. If you are feeling seriously unwell you wouldn’t ask your mate down the pub to diagnose your problem would you, you would see a Doctor. Don’t listen to anyone on social media peddling information that does not come from a creditable source that doesn’t get its information from a reliable source such as the NHS or BMA.

Nothing is 100% safe and that includes vaccinations. Neither is crossing the road always safe. What would you do because it is not? Refuse to cross any road in the future because there is a risk that you might get knocked over? No, you cross the road in a managed situation whilst keeping as safe as possible.

As I have mentioned in other posts on this thread, if you do a risk assessment you will find that the benefit of these vaccinations far outweighs the risk associated with them. The clincher for me is that you are not just doing it for yourself, but for those around you. Society in general if you like. It’s a no brainier.

In addition to listening to experts you can also examine the facts.

Now the first thing you need to do is to understand a simple concept. Do not confuse risk with danger. For instance shaving is far more risky than driving. I cut myself maybe once or twice a year shaving, in well over 30 years of driving I have never had an accident. However I always drive sober, wear a seatbelt and obey traffic signs. I don't for one moment take precautions before I shave.

Likewise whilst Covid infection rates are an important indicator, the figure which matters the mortality rate.

So which country in Europe has the highest take up of vaccine? And which country has the lowest? 93% take up in Ireland, 28% take up in Bulgaria.

Now go on make a wild guess at the answer to the following questions.

Q1. Which European country has the lowest mortality rate per capita from Covid?

Q2. Which European country has the highest mortality rate per capita from Covid?

Please I beg you. If you are not vaccinated get it done. Please don't listen to anyone spreading these ridiculous conspiracy theories.

I have never checked the battery on the trimmer.

Still in Percy we have an exdirector of Newport County giving advice which if followed would kill Newport County supporters, and in Wiillthiswork, a current director who thinks it's a subject for humour.

So to be clear. When myself and GSB argue, or Bangitinthenet, or Colin or a fair few others, it really doesn't matter. You see joking and rowing about stadiums, bamboo underpants, whether a match has really sold, is not of any real consequence. Nobody will die as a result of whether or not therevwere empty spaces at the Leicester City game.
People giving out false information about vaccinations for a deadly virus will kill. Will leave grieving relatives.

Not really a subject for laughter, eh?

Let me start by saying, I am on the get vaccinated side of this discussion, and took my Wife for her booster jab this morning. Myself and two grown up daughter's all having 2 jabs so far.

However, I do think people should check the information posted on a football forum for its accuracy.

For instance in the latest published data there are 9 European Countries with a better per capita rate than that of Ireland, and 100 World Wide. Interesting Norway is top of the European list, and New Zealand (where my eldest daughter is) is high up in the world rates. What that says about vaccination v locking down borders I'm not sure. But as I say my family are going down the vaccination route, as the lockdown boat sailed a year ago.

Not quite sure what thread to put this on, but, this thread seems to contain the latest info regarding Coronavirus. Mods - please feel free to put the info elsewhere. We may need a separate thread for those interested.

Given the info just given by Boris at the 5pm briefing regarding the new Omicron strain of the virus, I think it is reasonable to ask that excepting the immuno compromised people who cannot have the vaccine, that we ask all people to get jabbed asap. All lives matter.

Don't you mean immunocompromised people?

I think you should get more information before you start preaching to people. What you should be saying to people is to ask your doctor for advice. Because at the end of the day. You are not a doctor are you?

Don’t you mean Doctor, even Dr is acceptable, but never doctor and you did it twice. If I was a Doctor I would call myself as such, but never a doctor. If you want to get into a pedantic discussion regarding grammar and spelling, crack on, it will bore the pants off people on here and trust me, you will lose.

Now, the link you sent us to is the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention. As such, it is a US Federal agency and is not regulated for the UK.

The authority for medicines in the UK is the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency - MHRA. It has a weekly report which covers adverse reaction to any COVID vaccine and also gives guidance on approved COVID-19 vaccines. On other matters I have dealt with it regularly.

The UK Doctors agency is the BMA - it has a good webpage as well and is a regulatory authority. It gives good information for those in vulnerable groups.

There is also the NHS website. It’s the catch all and is a good starter for 10 on any COVID topic. It gives excellent info’ regarding all groups who are in the high risk category including all those with long term illnesses.

Sometimes on this forum for some obscure reason you have to state the bloody obvious. I can only assume that this is for people who can’t grasp the facts or when they are presented with them they refuse to believe them. How on earth would people in vulnerable groups and are at high risk have had any vaccine without their Doctor being involved? You get my drift? At the start of this pandemic every Doctors practice in Wales would have been contacted regarding patients who are at high risk. So, the Doctors will have been involved from the very outset as we would expect.

If you don’t want to listen to me, fine, it’s your own health you are compromising. Remember, this is an unofficial Newport County messageboard. If you insist on going to the internet for info’ on Covid, use the reputable agencies. I have given you the details of three regulatory agencies in the UK that give outstanding advice on Covid issues. I can do no more.

Chwarae teg. Excellent post dear boy. The thing that saddens the most about those who refuse to get the covid vaccine is they are not just compromising themselves but maybe others close to them and the population as a whole.
