Re: Tyreek Bakinson
3Can't see it, regular on loan at Ipswich last season.
[Edit: Correction - he was only with Ipswich from January, Roughly half his 31 games were for Bristol City before that.]

Re: Tyreek Bakinson
6Which Tyreek would we get,the positive confident one at the start of the loan or,the lost, confidence drained one of his latter performances.Don’t forget,it was him moving out of our defensive line that allowed the cross for Tranmere to score at Wembley.
Re: Tyreek Bakinson
8I remember we had three loanees from Bristol and it was reported they travelled together but one didn't drive. I don't know if that was Bakinson but he stayed the longest and I did wonder if it was him, if it contributed to his form dropping off.
Re: Tyreek Bakinson
9At that time we had Semenyo, Pring and Bakinson from Bristol City
Semenyo and Pring went back in January.
Bakinson's form fell off after that.
I reckon as a young lad he missed his mates from Bristol.
This is where MF fell down in his man management skills, he didn't nurture him.

10Berahino has also been released. I remember him scoring a hat trick against us at the Hawthorns. Back then it was thought he'd go on to great things.

11So did he. I think that was the problem.Blackandamber wrote: May 22nd, 2022, 11:06 am Berahino has also been released. I remember him scoring a hat trick against us at the Hawthorns. Back then it was thought he'd go on to great things.
Re: Tyreek Bakinson
12Bristol City got rid of him for that exact reason. Not willing to graft when the team needed him. A very talented player, but very much a luxury player.Fu Ming wrote: May 22nd, 2022, 11:01 am At that time we had Semenyo, Pring and Bakinson from Bristol City

Re: Tyreek Bakinson
13I thought he was superb for us...... until he no longer was. I used to defend his odd lapses until they became the norm in his performances. If he has thrown up his chance of making it as a championship player there has to be something wrong that he is either unable or unwilling to put right. The obvious comparison is with the career path of Scott Twine.
Re: Tyreek Bakinson
14Yeah if we could have (and maintain) the Bakinson that started the loan period that would be great, but the Bakinson that lost his confidence was mostly terrible.
Berahino would possibly be a poor team player. And I suspect his best days are sadly behind him.

Re: Tyreek Bakinson
15Some of you on here... Bakinson was 19/20 yrs old when he was on loan here? still quite a raw novice. Since then he has gone on to make a further 14 league 2 apps with Plymouth, 17 League 1 apps with Ipswich and 47 Championship apps with Bristol City.
